We had a wonderful three days at Lympstone Manor over Christmas. We stayed in one of the charming shepherd's huts, located on the outskirts of the property. It had very comfortable bed with good quality bedding and the hut was very well equipped with everything that you could need. The only faults were a lack of storage space for all the superfluous cushions and a rug and some cleaning issues. Our microwave oven was dirty, there was spilled milk in the fridge door, the hut felt dusty and the shower water did not drain away because the shower trap was blocked. We ate in the main hotel restaurant and this was a delightful experience every day, made more special on Christmas Day by us being greeted by chef Michael Caines and then being able to observe him in the kitchen. The food was outstanding. For us, the service was always just a bit slow. A little less time between courses would have been preferable but the service was otherwise excellent and we felt very well looked after. Overall this was a lovely way to spend Christmas and we would certainly do it again.
