We booked Rudding Park on a fantastic deal. The price included a bottle of Champagne, dinner and breakfast. On arrival we were met by a dilligent porter who immediately took our cases. On check-in, a really nice lad from Leeds checked us in and accompanied us to our room. Very chatty and informal. The hotel itself is largely new but with a nod to period details. Our room was large, with every convenience including bedside USB and USBC ports, comfortable chairs, contemporary decor and a spectacular view onto gardens accessed from french doors. We had a drink in the bar which was slick and modern, but a little corporate. Staff throughout were friendly, yet efficient and a credit to the hotel. We weren't expecting too much from the Clocktower Brasserie as the hotel also offers 'fine dining' in Horto. Hats off though, the food was beautifully presented, well cooked and was very reasonably priced. The restaurant itself was large, contemporary and airy, but the conservatory had a nicer ambience, but possibly not on a bitter Winter's day! Breakfast next day offered a cornucopia of both hot and cold options. The full English was perfect, with quality ingredients and cooked to order. We didn't use the spa, but from what we could see, it looked very impressive. All in all, Rudding Park is a very high quality hotel, with a great young team running it. Would happily return, preferably in Spring or Summer, to enjoy the grounds.
