We stayed here for two days, although the trip was very short, but the journey was very satisfactory! Mainly because the hotel is very comfortable, you can see Mount Fuji in the external landscape, very beautiful!

Everything is fine, but it's a pity that the first floor of the hotel is under renovation, and the small sign faces the parking lot. How many tourists are driving there? Hard to find. It is recommended to write it clearly in the introduction or improve the appearance.

Pros: 1. The room comfortably accommodated 3 adults, although the bathroom was a bit small even for one person. 2. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was satisfactory. 3. Breakfast met our expectations. 4. The onsen experience was enjoyable overall. 5. The hotel's location is convenient, being close to Lake Kawaguchiko. 6. Free parking area is near the hotel entrance. Cons: 1. We specifically booked a room with a ”mountain view” hoping to see Mount Fuji. Our room was on level 3. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that our view only included the tip of the mountain, obstructed by buildings and electric cables. This was quite different from the picturesque view advertised on their website. Considering the high price of the room (SGD$800 per night for 3 persons), this was a huge disappointment. We strongly believe that the hotel should reconsider offering level 3 rooms as 'mountain view' rooms and reserve levels 4 and 5 for this category, as this feels like a misrepresentation. 2. Dinner was a huge letdown. We were served only 2 platters of meat (pork and beef) of average quality and 1 vegetable platter for Shabu Shabu. The selection was extremely limited. Although we were offered a Kaiseki Ryori (multi-course Japanese-style meal) for the next evening, there was an additional charge of over $3000+ yen per person for the upgrade. Despite the extra cost, this option seemed more appealing as we did not want to have the same Shabu Shabu two nights in a row.

The hotel's building, without the outer charm (euphemism) is difficult to reach by public transport and it is impossible to reach in the evening. There is a shipping ship that comes to you on the day of your arrival and deposits you at the station on the morning of your departure or during your stay (3 hours a morning). The rooms are very good, large and with a wonderful view of the Fuji mountain. The staff is helpful but speaks very little English and communicates by google translation. This can lead to confusion as it is happening to us. The person who received us was particularly hateful, which was not the case with the rest of the staff very happy. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable.

This is the second time staying in Fuji Ginkei, while the first time was in 2017. The reason I chose it when I went to Kawaguchiko the second time was the perfect location, service, and food when I stayed in 2017. First, I should thank the hotel staff. As you might know, it is tough for solo travelers to book a Ryokan room. As a search around the hotel list, which I think is perfect for the stay, Fuji Ginkei is one of a few hotels which said OK. I appreciate it. The location is perfect as you can see the lake and mountain simultaneously. For Kawaguchiko, only a few hotels have this kind of view. When you arrive at the Kawaguchiko station, don't forget to call them, and they will pick you up. However, when you live, if you want to take their shuttle bus, you need to check their shuttle bus schedule. I choose the Japanese-style room which a balcony since I want to take many photos from my room. It is worth it as the view from the room is perfect. I can stay in the room and watch Mount Fuji all afternoon. It even has an individual bathroom in the room, which is kind of rare. If you stay in the hotel in Winter, don't forget to use the outdoor onsen. It will be freezing to get in and out, but it is worth it as you will see a very clear sky and many stars when using the outdoor onsen. You will never forget it. Moreover, don't forget to go lakeside, which is only a few meters away. You can take perfect photos of the lake, Mount Fuji and the stars. It is impressive. Service is as good as before, which you can imagine. When you are having breakfast and dinner, the staff will talk with you, introducing the dish and telling you much exciting and helpful information. For once, I was discussing さかさふじ with them and really learned a lot. The dish is good. As I stayed for two nights, I think the first night's dinner was better than the second. For breakfast, I don't have too many things to say. Overall, the dish tasted good but not as impressive as in 2017, maybe because I tried some Michelin during these years, which increased my standard. Overall, it is an excellent hotel, and the price is not that high compared to other hotels around Kawaguchiko. Once again, is it worthy.

My husband and I stayed here for one night at the beginning of October 2020. Check-in time was at 2pm, and the staff members were very efficient and polite, dressed in lovely “yukata”. The room had a nice layout, with two double beds and a television, a separate sitting area with another television and mini-bar area, and a large sofa-bench/bed area by window from which one could view a very large Mt Fuji. There was an indoor bathroom area and a separate shower room that lead to an outdoor hot-bath which was not too hot. I did not even have to add any cold water to it. There was a rooftop hot bath (for women only) and nice larger hot-spring baths on different floors. Other smaller family-baths could be reserved. Note that the towels in the rooms do not have to be taken to these baths since supplies are located there. Pictures may not be taken in any of the baths. The room had guest “yukata” and haori(warm vests) and also another type of top/slacks set which may be worn throughout the hotel. (Note that you might ask in advance about the size ranges of these items). “Tabi” socks were provided for free in our room, and free, packaged small bath towels and amenities were provided for each of us. Two free bottles of water were provided, but items stored in the mini-bar refrigerator need to be paid for upon checkout (as explained by the room attendant upon checking in). There was a nice free selection of tea and coffee in the room, with a nice cup of Japanese tea and a complimentary piece of nutty chocolate upon while being oriented to the room and the layout of the hotel. The level of our room included a free “Taiko” show in the evening (2 shows each night), with ours starting at 8:45pm(the second one). Guests may choose either Japanese or western-style meals. We chose Japanese for both sittings but preferred the quality of the breakast meal, which was very tasty.

If you need to use the pick-up service, please contact the hotel after you arrive at Kawaguchiko Station. Located on the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi, Shuhoukaku Kogetsu offers views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi from all rooms and open-air baths, and is blessed with the beauty of the four seasons, including fresh greenery, autumn leaves, and snow-capped Mt. Fuji. It is a unique accommodation that combines Japanese aesthetics with Western elements. It is a 10-minute drive to Kawaguchiko Station, a 15-minute drive to Highland Resort Hotel, and a 2-hour drive from the Tokyo metropolitan area.

GGuest User 2023.05.26
I stayed at the Kogetsu for 2 nights in May and it was an unforgettable experience. Every detail was beautiful and thoughtful. I booked rather late and was not able to book the same room, so the first night I stayed in a Standard Western Style twin w open-air bath; and the second night in a Standard Japanese Modern w open-air bath (Triple). Both were on the 3rd (of 5) floors and both had stunning views of Mt Fuji. Both incorporated both Japanese and Western style. The first room had wood floors throughout and half-shoji screen doors so you could separate the bedroom and dining areas. It also had a small walk-in closet. The outdoor onsen was quite large (could easily fit 4 adults) and the patio was wider than in the Triple room. I posted pics of the Standard Western Style Twin and will post the pics of the Triple separately. In contrast the Triple room was larger and there was a gorgeous daybed (which becomes the 3rd bed) with windows on either side overlooking Mt Fuji. The onsen was a bit smaller (could easily fit 2 adults). The bedroom was carpeted, dining area had tatami-style mats, and hallway had wood floors. There was a wardrobe rather than walk-in closet in this room. Both rooms had a wet area for washing up before the onsen, a separate powder room, and separate toilet room. Honestly, you can’t go wrong - both rooms were gorgeous. I felt lucky to be here. One thing to note is that there is a boat launch beside the ryokan, so my open-air onsen on 3rd floor was not super private (there’s a screen to pull down if you want privacy, but it obscures the view). The 4th/5th floors would have more feeling of privacy. The kaiseki meals were beautifully displayed and delicious. The 2 nights’ menus were different but followed a similar (but not identical) format: 1) Aperitif, 2) Seasonal appetizers, 3) Soup, 4) Sashimi, 5) Main course (hot), 6) Steamed fish, 7) Grilled fish, 8) Palette cleanser, 9) simmered dish, 10) rice dish, and 11) dessert. My nakai, Fumiko-san, was lovely - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was also included - it was half- buffet, with an elegant bento box with appetizers and tamago. It also included delicious tempura, made to order and delivered to your table. The hotel has a happy hour from 2:30-6:30 where a limited selection of tea, coffee, nonalcoholic drinks, beer and wine are free. You can enjoy them on the gorgeous terrace overlooking Mt Fuji with your feet soaking in the footpath (just not in your room). Lastly there are shuttles every morning to Kawaguchiko Station or any of the tourist sights on the way, and the hotel will send a shuttle to pick you up when you are ready to come back. The location of this ryokan could not be better - close to some great museums and on the North shore of the lake, which has the best views (and away from the touristy South shore).

Second visit. Mt. Fuji is clear in winter. In the morning, I went to the illumination square in front of the restaurant because it was Akafuji before sunrise. From the right end to red purple, when the sunrise started at about 1 / 3, I returned to the magnificent Fuji, but the sunrise on the left, the full moon on the upper right, and Mt. Fuji in the middle. I have to see this. Under the sunrise is the sea of clouds in Lake Yamanaka. The view that there is everything to see. Since there are many families, the rooms are large and you can see Lake Yamanaka and Mt. Fuji from all rooms. The bath is on the 2nd floor with B1 and the mountain trail is clear from the observation bath. You should see people in the season. It is a good hotel that is calm.

We are glad to have stayed in Fuji Matsuzono Hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable for a family of 3 and there was a small table with 2 chairs that allowed us to sit around to have some late night snacks and drinks. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. When I approached them at 1am for an additional pillow, they immediately attended to the request. The bath area for the onsen was clean and spacious. The amenities provided were also good quality. There is also a great selection of food during breakfast. Most importantly, room was facing Mt Fuji and we managed to get a nice morning view of Mt Fuji when we woke up. The view was spectaculars and there is a nice courtyard that one can take nice photos with Mt fuji in the background. The hotel is also located in a very convenience location. Once you exit the hotel, you will see Lake Yamanakako and there were many eateries nearby, all within walking distance. As we drove, it was also convenience that Lawson and 7-11 is less than 5 min drive away. Will definitely visit again.

Marriott staff welcomed us at the curb side. Check in was painless and soon we were off to our room. In room hot springs was a pleasant touch. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Even the Japanese pillows were soft and cozy. The food was top notch and catered to every taste. We opted for the dinner package—well worth the money. After dinner we rang for a late night massage…should have rethought that one. Asked for two therapist and got one. She had no clue what a massage was! Seriously!!! She literally poked at me with her finger tips. The pushed my head agains the pillow for ten minutes. Finally was had enough and she was dismissed with her full pay. Noted, she was not affiliated with the hotel, she was merely the lady they called. Please never call her again! Loved the hotel and the view. A must for anyone wanting a quiet getaway.

TTM0213Benefits & Use the GOTO campaign. I was looking for an inn where I could eat in my room, and this was a hit. I've always wanted to go to Oshino Hakkai, and it was close from there. It is located in the annex (4th and 5th floors) of a hotel called Kanesanen. On the 4th floor, there is a lounge where you can enjoy tea and small sweets, and you can see Mt. Fuji from the window. The room is Mizuho. This is also diagonally, but you can see Mt. Fuji from the window of the room. There is also a small open-air bath. I could see Mt. Fuji from the open-air bath on the 10th floor, and I felt great. The meal was delicious with various types. I stayed for 2 nights, but I was grateful that breakfast was divided by Japanese and Western food and day. I was relieved that the corona measures were perfect, and the temperature measurement, antibacterial, mask, and social distance were devised. (There are also disinfectant sheets and masks in the room.) The vast garden seems to enjoy the seasonal scenery. There was also a footbath, a pool, a gallery and a tea room, and customers of a wide range of ages came. The scenery of Mt. Fuji, which changes with the time I see, made me happy without getting tired of it.

2252kyliecI had never stayed in a hostel before, and I was pleasantly surprised. This is a very clean place, has a wonderfully fun decor, fresh bread and eggs up for grabs, and all other funky features like band aids and toothbrushes - It was quite amazing for a novice like me! The rooms are small and basic: our had one bunk set and one single. I found the mattress a little thin, but gents didn’t complain. The lounge area is compact, but was good for engaging with other travelers. It’s not the place to have late night fun though, as sound carries a little. The host was a bit cold, but no matter really.

GGuest UserI have used it several times. Breakfast and dinner are included (free and delicious) and are reasonably priced. The rooms are not small like business hotels in the city, but quiet and relaxing. As a point of caution, it is far from the city center and there is no convenience store within walking distance (it is dark and I don't feel like walking), so let's go buy it by car before drinking. Snacks and canned beer can also be purchased at the hotel shop. The proprietress is nice and soft-spoken.

PPali AWinter. I came to climb Mt Fuji. How difficult could it be? It's a gradual slope and even senior citizens are strolling on Fuji's incline from one snack shop to the next. But there's a climbing season. People are advised to not climb Fuji outside of summer. If you do, Michael wanted me to sign a release form which would allow him to go thru my things in case of my death. Since my backpack is filled with Adult Toys which I didnt want him & his Filipino staff to see, I decided to not climb it. Thanks, Michael, you might have saved my life. 1. Strong WiFi. 2. Lots of hot water & good water PRESSURE. 3. Bunks have curtains & lamps but no elec sockets. 4. Soap, shampoo, conditioner (i'm bald). 5. Tea & coffee. I stayed at 3 hostels in Fuji Yoshida. See what I think of all of them.

CCandorosaWe were three but we stayed in a house clearly designed for the company (three two-storey beds + couch). Shower with all the equipment (shampoon, air conditioner, shower gel, fan, towel), kitchen, refrigerator. Very clean. A beautiful hostess, kind, always ready to help. Talk only in Japanese, but it is not a problem, always walks with the phone in which the translator is set)) The hostess herself prepared breakfast, asked in advance how much you would like to eat. She has a small cafe in the same house, there she covers breakfast. The very place is 3-5 minutes walk from Mt. Fuji Station ~30 minutes walk to the Arakura Temple, overcome another 400 steps in ~15 minutes and you can enjoy the view from the most famous cards: Mount Fuji at dawn amid the Chureito pagoda.
