Jetwing Kurulubedda

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jetwing Kurulubedda, Galle. The cozy and peaceful surroundings made it the perfect getaway from the chaos of the city. The food was absolutely delightful, and the staff were incredibly welcoming, making the experience even more memorable. A special shoutout to Sanjeewa, Sameera and Gayan for their exceptional service—they truly went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Highly recommend this place for couples looking for relaxation and top-notch hospitality!

Actual rating 3.5 The uniqueness of the property is that its 5 minutes away from its sister property Jetwing Lighthouse which is all sun, sea and sand whereas this property gives a more inland vibe with mangroves and a stream. But the first thing you notice is that the property is extremely small. There is little room to roam around and you can hear all the noise from the surrounding households. We also visited after 2 days of ceaseless rains and it was probably not the best of times to visit a property of this nature. It was muddy, murky and too many (harmless) creepy crawlies... [While its no fault of the property, it did affect how we experienced the property.] We booked a plunge pool villa. It was very spacious compared to the price charged at local resident rates. There is a plunge pool downstairs (4 feet deep halfway through and 2 few deep rest of the way, not sure about that design idea though....:( Upstairs there is a spacious balcony, a bedroom and bathroom with a lovely rain shower. But the bathroom had zero natural lighting and it was very poorly lighted. The wooden furniture in the villa can also use some TLC. The food was average I would say. What elevated the rating was our Butler, Sameera's service. One of the best we've met in our travels. He was punctual, efficient, friendly and courteous. The check in and check was also very smooth, we arrived around 2 pm and our villa was ready and the check out didn't even take 5 minutes. The service is the reason we decided to round up the rating to 4 instead of rounding it down to 3... The google map directions are not accurate. It shows that the property is inside Jewting Lighthouse premises which is not the case. If you are coming from Galle town, you have to travel up to the last gate of Jewing Lighthouse (more like a service gate) opposite which there is a road named "Mahamudali Mawatha" once you you travel down that road for about 600 meters, you get another right turn with the hotel name board and that road ends at the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Jetwing Kurulubedda. The serene, nature-filled setting was perfect for relaxation. The staff, especially our butlers Sameera and Gayan, were incredibly attentive, always greeting us with a smile and catering to our every need. The chef also ensured we were always happy with our meals, which were beautifully prepared and delicious. Their care and dedication truly made our stay special. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat with outstanding service!
