Hotels Near Skatepark de La Praille in Geneva

The hotel was a little difficult because of the problems in the rooms, but the hotel quickly did what was necessary to make the stay more comfortable by changing our rooms.

The Geneva Marriott is an attractive, contemporary hotel located roughly near the airport, and since the shuttle doesn't run that often, you might be better off making the walk, as I did. For me it was a matter of some 20 minutes, but depending on your starting point at the airport, it could easily be less. Much closer to the hotel is the quite large Balexert shopping mall at 7 or 8 minutes' walk. The center of town can be also be walked to, as the way is rather straightforward, though it is noticeably farther than the airport, making the trams that stop very close to the hotel an option. Of course you will have to ask for your free Geneva public transport card, as the hotel makes no mention of these at its own initiative. I liked the fact that I was offered a late checkout immediately on arrival. I didn't like hearing that breakfast is available to platinum Marriott Rewards members in the executive lounge only, a marked departure from standard practice elsewhere in Europe - not just at Marriotts, but also, for example, at their large American competitor also located near the airport. As it was, when I was ready for breakfast on the morning of my one-night stay, it turned out that something had gone wrong and as a consequence, breakfast was offered only in the restaurant. The assortment there was between good and very good, which I'm sure wouldn't have been the case in the lounge. The lounge had already disappointed the previous evening. I went shortly before 18:00 just to make sure that food would still be available when I was expecting to have the time, just after 19:00. The employee said yes, but there was virtually nothing left when returned; she might have had the courtesy to mention that they would stop replenishing dishes, but this would have required some thought from the guest's perspective. The gym was not so great, either; from a large and modern Marriott I'd expect better. All in all, acceptable, but if breakfast in the lounge is as meager as I suspect, then I would probably not favor this property.

It's a little far from the old town, but since you can get a free pass from the city's tourism bureau, you can come and go as you like on the tram, so it doesn't feel like an inconvenience. The staff was very helpful in helping us get our free passes. The staff were very kind.

Best location if you are willing to catch an early train at Geneva Airport, clean bed and toilet facilities to let you relax and recover quickly if you are taking a long trip.

The transportation is convenient. The hotel is near the airport. It's easy to find. It's very suitable for friends who want to catch a plane and stay overnight

This is really close to the airport and easy to get to on foot even with snowboard bags and suitcases! We used for an overnight stay before travelling onto final destination. It was exactly what we expected for the cost. The room was tiny, but clean and functional. We had a double bed with a single bunk over, clever use of the space. Our only complaint is that it was incredibly hot with no way of cooling other than opening the window, which slightly cooled, but you are right next to the airport so there are obviously numerous noises. There was air con gauge on the wall, but it didn’t work. It was unseasonably warm so maybe the heating for the building just hadn’t adjusted? The heater in the room was off, but the whole building appeared to be hot. Would recommend for short overnight stay if using airport.

The view outside the hotel window is very beautiful. You can watch the sunset and sunrise of Lake Geneva while lying down. The transportation is very convenient. The train station is a few dozen meters behind the hotel. You can take the train to the central train station of Geneva or to Geneva Airport. You need to bring some cash. The machine is broken on the return trip and will not accept cards. Only cash is accepted. There is a super large supermarket downstairs of the hotel, which is very convenient for shopping. Be sure to book a room with large glass floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides. The view is so healing!

Das Hotel zieht sicher viele Besucher an, die den hohen Zimmerpreisen in Genf entgehen wollen. Anders als auf den Buchungsportalen präsentiert, sind die Zimmer doch ziemlich klein. Ich musste mich jedesmal mit Mühe zwischen Bett und Fernseher hindurchquetschen. Das Personal ist freundlich, man sieht nur selten welches, die Rezeption ist meistens unbesetzt und wird vom benachbarten Restaurant mit bedient. Es gibt einen großen gemeinsamen Parkplatz. Die Umgebung ist sehr industriell. Das Highlight ist das asiatische Restaurant, welches abends viele Gäste anzieht. Wer nur übernachten will, ist im Woods Hôtel gut aufgehoben; in langer Erinnerung wird es wahrscheinlich nicht bleiben.

The room was one of the cleanest we’ve ever stayed. We booked a couples massage which due to unforeseen absence of one of the masseurs was not possible but the staff did their best to make up for it and handled it in the best way possible, also upgraded our room. The single massage itself was average and the wellness area much smaller and less equipped as expected but i guess it’s still the best possible for such a small place. The area itself is very quiet, perfect for walking or cycling in the silence. The view from the room was unfortunately quite dull due to the renovation of the pool. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant is great. Overall, we were happy with our stay despite the circumstances, the staff is doing their best.

Lovely new YOTEL hotel. This was my first time in Geneva but I frequently stay at the YOTEL in NYC. This hotel is much smaller that their NYC hotel but WOW WOW WOW. Gorgeous rooms, lovely staff, friendly service and superb views of the mountains and lake. Their restaurant is also beautiful and the food is great! The rate represented great value and we loved our stay. We hope to be back in the future.
