Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia Resort

Really badly run hotel, At first they could not find my booking then they checked me out when I clearly stated I had a second booking, my keys got deactivated had to wait outside for nearly 20 mins before they sent new ones, breakfast is horribly bad with flies all over the pastries, croissants hard as a rock even the Executive Chef had to come and prepare 2 basic fried eggs sunny side up soft on top as the other staff could only deliver half cooked eggs simply not good enough I would not recommend this hotel

Novotel hotel management should renovate rooms as soon as possible, it’s looking very old , I think they haven’t change their interior from last 20-25 years, running their hotel with same old interior,Rooms doesn’t give feel of Five star property. Had a wonderful time at this lovely hotel. The location is a couple of hours from the airport but once there it was lovely. The staff, Jagdish, Tarkit, Ashish to name just three were so friendly, courteous and looked after us so well. The food was absolutely amazing, so much choice, not only curries ! Finally two girls who worked front of house, Pari and Nun were so welcoming and pleasant and made our holiday with their friendship and happy faces. Even though the hotel caters for Indian weddings (Wow) and corporate events it had minimal impact on us sun worshippers.

The staff is very nice and the most important thing is that the hotel is baby friendly, they make baby food which is the most good thing that i liked about it, also this hotel has its own private beach, food is good

We were travelling as a team of 14 to this place. We had asked for a small signage greeting our team. However, we were informed by the Reservation team that such a thing is not possible and whosoever visits them as a group bring their own signages!!! We were informed that only aarti and tilak will be done and alas it seems they forgot that too!!! It is quite evident that there is resistance from Reservation team for any request one puts forth. And the coordination with front office is lacking. Check in was smooth. The rooms are quite old however the bathrooms seems to have been spruced up. However, I noticed one of the caps of the mixer unit missing in my room. We asked for additional chairs and an ice box. We were informed that by the front office that they will check and revert. We had to go over to the front office after half an hour and supervise the arrangements. They have a nice recreational area and the beach access is fantastic thru the property. Only the breakfast spread was good. Lunch and dinner spread were quite a dull affair with the hummus and pita bread making an appearance every day. We of course tried most of the stuff; however, the F&B needs to pull up their socks. For starters there is only one dish i.e. paneer tikka for the vegetarians..Nothing else. We had opted for an MAP plan hence had to eat one major meal. I would suggest anyone booking here should go only with the breakfast option. The GM, Mr Denis who we met on the day of the checkout heard us out and agreed that there were areas that they could certainly improve. Thank you Mr Denis for lending us your ears.

"family trip to south goa" this was my third stay in south goa. This time i chose novotel don o sylvia resort at cavelossim. I stayed for 5 nights. Well the room was situated in a ground villa with two rooms. Room was good with spacious bathroom and storage area. Rest as usual things were present. The outdoor sitting area was an added feature which we spent for our evening tea. The pool area is large and has three categories. That's a star at this resort. The morning breakfast was okay and nothing extraordinary. Repetitions of all dishes were seen in all the days i stayed. It needs improvement. While i was staying there were two company meetings going on consecutively. Suddenly all of the resort becomes crowded. The issue is not this. I felt that there was lack of one to one attention for guests. Of course foreigners are treated in a different manner. The staff right from reception, housekeeping, buffet counter to the guards are very polite and always cheerful. The beach pathway is great and feels you the real size of this resort. It's located near to good restaurants. Robin's was my favourite. Rest the stay was good.
