Amirandes Grecotel Boutique Resort

Advantages:1. The personnel all were very friendly from the lobby till the cleaning lady trying to solve all your problems 2. Minimalistic architecture give the space to breath very beautiful decorations Disadvantages: 1. Please don’t go to the restaurants of this hotel overpriced and the food sucks for two person 200 euros for a food that cost less than 20. 2. Rooms we’re comfortable but overpriced for the things that offered.

We have just returned from probably our 25th visit to this hotel. The fact that we and many others keep returning speaks volumes. Once we discovered this hotel no other quite matched it. Highlights: The architecture is stunning. The entire area is kept spotless and the beach is raked every morning. The staff are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The main 50m seawater pool is never overcrowded. It is possible to swim in shady areas in the heat of the day. There are ample sunbeds under slatted roofing. Fresh towels are always available and friendly staff provide refreshments from the pool bar/restaurant. Special mention of Gianni whose welcoming smile could light a room. Sunbeds are also available on grassy areas and the beaches. Food: The main restaurant has tables around a lagoon area and on two balconies overlooking the sea or central lagoon. Staff will show you to a table of your choice and provide drinks. Thanks to Vasso and Soula for excellent service. A self service buffet provides a wide range of foods. Four speciality restaurants, Asian, Italian Cretan and a grill provide food at higher prices, well worth paying on occasions. We will go again.

This is the first time we have stayed at a Grecotel resort and if this is the standard for all the other resorts i will definitely be booking with them in the future. I have given this a 5 star rating but if it was based on Customer Service alone i would be saying 5 Star ++. We upgraded to a beach front bungalow which was really worth it for the convenience and quality of room. Nice little touches when we arrived around a bottle of bubbles plus some nibbles as we arrived late at night. Although we were Half Board we still ate out 4 nights but that is not a reflection of the food but more a personal preference to try some of the small family tavernas in Gouves which were about a 15 minute walk. Talking of that one little request for Amirandes is to provide better access to Gouves as if you walk along the beach its about 8 minutes but you have to walk a long way round to get back to Gouves but its an easy walk if you are able. I have to say a special thank you to all the staff but 3 names really stood out for us. Iro in the pool bar, Christoula at the main restaurant and Anna who i think is the Pool Bar/Restaurant Manager. Anna went out of her way to assist my wife who had an eye infection despite the fact she was dealing with a sensitive issue around the pool. She gave my wife eye drops which sorted the issue out after 24 hours. If you are looking at Gouves for a holiday and like a bit of luxury then definitely take a look at Amirandes

I spent 10 wonderful days with my boyfriend in Amirandes. And it wasn't enough! We really enjoyed dinners and the sea view from the window. Yoga with Niki was the best way to greet the day. And doing sport with Kosta was my husband's favourite thing during the day. Thank you, everyone! The whole holiday was orgonized on the high level 😍

The Amirandes welcome is exceptional, and we immediately felt enveloped by their genuine warmth and real desire to make us feel instantly at home – nothing is too much trouble. It is the mark of an outstanding hotel when they treat their guests as part of their extended family. I can only reiterate all the superlatives that have already been mentioned in recent reviews. The hotel on every level strives to be the best it can be, always and in always. but it is the quality of the staff that differentiate it from its competitors and The Amirandes is the one to beat. Within minutes of arriving at our room the most delicious birthday cake arrived complete with candle which was a delicious start to our holiday. I am a keen swimmer, and it simply wasn’t practical to pack my aqua weights, no sooner said than done, Maria had ordered two sets for us to enjoy and was always totally professional, but you could see her genuine desire for us to be happy. We had taken the Comfort Pack, something we have never done before, and it did not disappoint as the food was varied, freshly prepared and delicious. The pastry chef needs an extra special mention – I could have dived into the individual lemon meringues; they were outstanding, as were all the baked goods. We have dietary restrictions and starting with the Food and Beverage Manager (I’m so sorry I’ve forgotten your name), the staff went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. We want to especially thank Selina and Vasa who were always such a joy to talk to and I truly made a new friend in Eleni; you are simply the best and have an open invitation to stay with us in London.

One word. Amazing! It was our first time at Amirandes and we left with the best memories, but also with sadness because our holidays was over. The whole area there is wonderful, but mostly the staff made our stay perfect. They treat us as their own family! First of all, we had a great time at sports facilities. We met Costas and we have to say that he is the best! He was transmitting his energy to us every day. Our room was very classy and the whole design is that what you expect from a boutique hotel in Crete. The housekeeping looked after us everyday. Thank you! And now the best part. Food! The buffet has plenty of tasty meals and many things to choose from. We didn't have the chance to visit an a la carte restaurant, but we will do it the next time! We are also very pleased with the main restaurant staff. Always willing to serve us and answer our questions, even when the restaurant was in heavy traffic. Especially Marios and Fotini were always with a smile upon their faces! We loved their positive energy, congratulations! We will come back, of course!
