Brilliant basic and clean hotel, just a few minutes walk out of the city centre. Fridge in the room and a common room with tables and chairs, a kettle and microwave, crockery and cutlery. There’s mini market a minute’s walk from the hotel to buy some essentials, if you’re watching the cost. Then plenty of bars and restaurants very nearby. No frills, but excellent location, very friendly, and spotlessly clean.

Eurostar hotel chain, located in the city center, with direct airport bus access, about 200 meters walk after getting off, near the church. The hotel is quiet in the bustling city, very clean and quiet, with toothbrush, comb, hair dryer, kettle, refrigerator, safe, simple ironing, slippers can be asked for free at the front desk, and there is a drying rack in the bathroom, which is very convenient for washing. The only drawback is that only a small bottle of free mineral water is provided every day. The breakfast is rich, 7:30:10:30, the taste is also good, and the fruit is fresh.

My family stayed two nights in this hotel on a tour of Alhambra Palace. The outside common area of the hotel, including the dining room, was very well maintained and could deserve a 5-star rating. The rooms inside were a different story. We occupied two rooms. One was a “superior deluxe room,” and the other was a “classic city-view double room.” Both had the same price tag. The deluxe room was spacious and well-lit but had an odd arrangement with a useless bathtub in the center. Moreover, the room smelled of sewage when we entered the room—which I notified the management. They disagreed and claimed there was no sewage smell. I did not appreciate the response, as all four of our family members smelled of sewage. Nor did I escalate the issue, as our stay was short. The city-view room had a small window overlooking the city without much viewing space. The room was tiny, with two twin beds packed in the room, and was poorly lit. It felt like being in a prison cell. The shower doors in both rooms did not close fully, so the water splashed out. In short, both rooms were substandard and did not deserve the price tag at all. My recommendation to travelers is to stay elsewhere, and if you need to stay there, avoid the small “city-view” rooms and Deluxe Room #331 that smells of sewage. I got to love Spain and its people who are very friendly and helpful, but not this hotel.

We visited the hotel for one night in January. From the beginning of our stay we were exceedingly impressed by all the staff with whom we engaged. They could not have been more helpful or friendly. They brought in our luggage from our car and parked it for us. Checkin was a breeze and we were shown to our delightful room which was spacious and beautifully presented. We were shown around the hotel which has been cleverly constructed from a private bank preserving a number of the original bank’s features. The reception staff were enthusiastic at recommending places for us to see in Granada as well as the best dining experiences. Due to its central location we could walk to everywhere we needed to and nowhere was too far away. We have stayed in many hotels around the world but the Palacio Gran Via really stood out as one of the best.

The hotel has 2 strong sides: the location, and the staff. I must mention the Front Desk staff, very friendly and accommodating, with quick check in, and check out process. Whoever owns the place, has to bear in mind that even the most amazing staff will, sooner or later, stop covering up any other failures. Good staff members will start leaving the place for a better one as they will be ashamed to work at such a crappy place. I come from the hospitality industry, and I can clearly identify problems in the hotel, which is a low budget given by the owner/owners, or poor management. CLEANLINESS: In my opinion housekeeping staff is not given enough time to clean the rooms properly. When we checked in, the bed tables, including the phone, were literally covered with dust. Therefore there were ants in the room, and the bathroom ceiling and walls were full of mould. I don't understand, nowadays you can easily get environmentally friendly detergents for the mould, and for ants. BREAKFAST BUFFET QUALITY: Even though the variety of products was very wide, the quality was incredibly poor. The cheapest stuff that would be normal to get in the hostel or student sort of accommodation, but not in the 4 star hotel. Very bitter, and burned coffee from the self service coffee machine (1 out of 2 was out of order by the way), green clumps in scrambled eggs, and totally green, not ready to eat bananas.... All these should not be served in the 4* hotel. AMENITIES: We were quite surprised there was no ironing board in the room, normally there are 4* hotels. We asked Reception around 11pm about the possibility of getting it to the room, but the Night Receptionist was clueless where he could find it, and asked to come back in the morning. This situation should not happen as the night shift members should be most experienced, and most aware of all the hotel aspects. We could not wait to do ironing until the morning so I had to do it on the bed. Thank God we had an iron in the car so I was able to prepare our outfits for the wedding the following day.

As other have said around 10 minutes walk from City Centre but close to all attractions. Rooms are excellent, spacious and have a nice bathroom. Tea and cofee provided and rooms kept spotless by cleaners. Did not use amenities on offer or eat in the restaurant so cannot comment on quality. Only one minor negative was around wifi - brilliant in reception but 'patchy” in room and would often lose connectivity. Overall first rate hotel and would return.

We went to Granada for a few days and a hotel on the outskirts seemed like a good idea. It is located in a commercial area, surrounded by restaurants. The nearby bus stop connects to Granada city centre. The hotel is comfortable and clean. Extraordinary bed. Very good service. You can enjoy coffee and tea for free at any time. We did not eat or eat breakfast at the hotel because we were outside all day. It has free parking.
