I have been a die hard IHG mainstay for years. The last 3 months they have been pushing the limits. The staff at the hotel are fantastic, rooms are clean as well as all public spaces. The reason for a 1 Star is the business side of hotels. 1. As aspire Elite member, I should be greeted as such and offered choice for welcome amenity points or snack- Did not happen again. I will hold you accountable because that is your standard not mine 2. Automatic upgrade- As Aspire Elite upgrades are automatic and at this hotel only happens 50% of the time and did not happen this time 3. Price- I always book through the IHG App. Price for room was $150 and change. When I was using google maps to find the hotel it stated rooms could be had for $102. As Aspire Elite are we special to pay more? 4. Deposit Holds- Most hotel chains take deposit holds on rooms. My issue is why do they take a deposit worth more than the value of the room? Previous night stayed at a Wyndam Hotel and deposit was only $100 and released upon checkout not 3 to 5 business days. As tonight is a Thursday night I will be lucky to get back my $200 by Wednesday more than likely Thursday. Everything I have stated is a fact, the reason I still stayed here is the fact I get 3 x the points till December 31st. Upon the new year will I stay at IHG? Gets harder to say yes the more I dig. The hotel, rooms and staff are excellent, just the business side is down right greasy
