We were so excited for our family staycation at GWL. We arrived on a Saturday for my Grand Baby's 9 th birthday . check in was a night mare . I was double charged for the room .( took3 weeks to get that returned to me ) we paid for the biggest birthday bash . where the room was suppose to be decorate balloons in the room . and a cake voucher and pizza voucher And game vouchers . they told us it would all be ready when the room was done . they texted us and said room was . when we got to the room . the key pass did not work . we had to go back down there and get that fixed . when we was down there , we ask them about the door not being decorated . I still did not get my refund which he told me would only take 30 mins to receive . they said oh we are sorry . fixed the room key. Then told me they would decorate the room very soon . (round 5pm ) so we went to dinner . came back at 6 room still not decorate . son went down to front desk and they said it will be done before 7 . 730 the door was decorated . they acted like it was a bother for us to ask for something we paid for . then it was not done they way it was suppose to be done. let not start of how uncomforble the bed were. DO NOT STAY HERE

Spent $700 for about 3 hours at the water park. Most of the time was spent in a long line of people checking in and out just to get wristbands. Only 1 or 2 people at the front desk. Water park was dirty, crowded, not enough seating and the food concessions were super slow and understaffed. Parking is extra and they make you pay a $65 deposit on top of the ticket prices. $50 food credit only on 1 wristband was a total waste. Not enough seating. Lazy river was too crowded and unruly. Limited things to do. Waste of time and money. Left 4 voicemails for supervisor to call and have never heard back. When calling to ask to speak to supervisor I was told they are really busy and no one available to talk to but would get a call back. After the 4th call trying to I gave up.

The bed was comfortable, and when I texted Willow for more pillows and sugar they came quickly and it was very easy but that's about the best I can do. This is not for adults, if you want to entertain small children that's about it. There are lots of loud things to do, run and screaming and howling and overpriced everything. I do not recommend dining credits as I hear they are not refunded if unused only for another stay. And make sure you watch the clock on your parking, if you plan on extended your adventure after check out as it's only good for 24 hours and then you'll need to pay again. There is absolutely nothing for anyone over 10 to do. Check in was an hour wait in line, so leave earlier than you were going to. The low water requirement at this facility makes it completely uncomfortable for anyone over 4 ft tall. You pay for the room, the parking, the resort fee, the water park, and all the extra stuff. We thankfully were gifted one night, by a friend, and appreciated it, but I also spent another $150 because of parking and well eating. The highlight for us was watching the planes out the bedroom window. Two out the three of us got sick from the chlorine that overtakes the facility and your room before washing out anything brought into the pool area. Also if you have fall issues, please be careful as it's mostly tile and of course wet. If your looking for a more adult experience, I might suggest the hotel across the street. Breakfast buffet was acceptable. But there are no employees anywhere, which I found weird, not that I specifically needed one but a friendly "is there anything I can help with" every now and then goes a long way. Johnson though, the guy at the front check in terminals very kind. He seemed to actively want to help guests and try to get them on there way.

This place is hyped up and overpriced, for no reason that I observed. The waterpark closes at 8. The outdoor water section is completely closed until maybe summer but staff wasn’t sure. I did not participate in the ropes course though it is open. There are no activities if you’re over about 10, at the oldest. Swim suits are the dress code for the entire facility. The best food on site is Starbucks which is a few dollars more than regular pricing. Build a bear starts at the standard $40. A cup of pretzel bites was $8 without dip. Regular sized pizza $23. Check in was atrocious and the wait to even get started was about 20 minutes. Sounded like a lot of customers had issues with items being wrongly billed or not being able to use food credits. From what was overheard, I wouldn’t suggest the meal plans. Housekeeping is simply the replacement of towels, nothing more, no made beds, extra coffee, cups, toilet paper, hand soap, etc. Not to mention, some of the “clean” towels brought in, still had hair on them. The whole facility has the chlorine smell which is to be expected for a “waterpark”. It also stays humid everywhere, including your room. We were able to keep it comfortable, with the AC cranked way down, but it was an inconvenience, if you don’t want to be a polar bear. The elevators move fast but they do sound bad and the smell/humidity will not help if you’ve got anxiety. Overall, I’m glad this was a paid business trip because I’d have been heartbroken to bring kids, pay their exorbitant prices and have so little to experience. I think there is a great concept here but it has been poorly executed. You also pay for parking.

We walked in to GWL on a Sunday night during story time. It felt pretty much like a ****** for kids if you're into that kind of thing. We stayed in the basic room, which was rather, basic. Essentials are good (two stars for the basic room). I think I just expected a tad more for the price of the room. Oh well. As for the waterpark, we were impressed. They were great and had a good thrill factor. Five stars there (note: this is not what I'd call a full-sized waterpark; it's small compared to your regular outdoor waterparks. When we were at GWL, only the indoor area was open, which made it even smaller. I'm not sure how much space the outdoor area adds). I'd looked at reviews when I was trying to decide whether or not to buy the breakfast-lunch food plan, and went ahead and splurged ($150 for 5 of us) on it for convenience hoping I'd be pleasantly surprised. In all honesty, it was a letdown. The all-you-can eat breakfast was good, just a bit steep. It was nice that for lunch it was just a $15 credit per person that you could use anywhere, but that $15 doesn't go very far because it is pretty pricey for what you get. Our biggest issue though, was that we checked out at 11, and then our wristbands that we were to use for food purchases for the rest of the day stopped working. What's even worse, one of our children had clamped together my wristband before I'd even put it on, so I had to go get a new one. I didn't realize it was both the room key AND the purchase mechanism, so I just got a regular wristband making it so that I needed my husband with me each time I needed to make a purchase (they should have been able to look us up on the computer for purchases, but that only worked the first time we bought food). Anyway, it was just a hassle. I waited in the checkin line 3 times and made a phone call and a text to get things resolved. They were very apologetic and gave us free food while we tried to figure things out, but it was a nuisance. So, note that you need your barcode/RFID? (I don't know the technology) wristband for your room key, food purchases, and towel checkout. If you are checked out of your room when you use the waterpark, there are showers in the locker room you can use before you go. You will need your own hair dryer and hair products, though (there was body wash).
