Stayed for one night with dinner for no reason other than to break up the dreary autumn weather by having a cosy night away with good food that’s not too far away from home! We stayed in a lovely room in the adjacent cottage with lovely bed linen and squishy wrap around pillows, everything seemed to have been thought of in the amenities and lay out of the room apart from no shower cap! The bathroom was modern with walk in shower and lovely views from the window you. A see from the bed. The staff are all fabulous, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. The restaurant is quite small so you need to be book your table. It feels personal, cosy and cared for. There are linen table cloths and I loved the dinner jacket shape they gold the linen napkins - love a linen napkin! Proper candles on the tables and a good selection on the menu. Portions I feel are quite large and whilst the food is. Ice, we have had better at less cost wise. It was as though it may have been stood a wee while before being served to us. My husband had a steak and he said it didn’t have that caramelisation on the outside he likes and no seasoning. We also had scallops, but too under for me, the quail breast and the stonebass. Huge thick piece of fish but I wasn’t keen on the dressing on the plate. Breakfast was all a carte- thumbs up from me I hate buffet style. The breakfast was excellent We would recommend and would stay here again.
