Prom Hotel

I booked a long bank holiday weekend away and had never stayed at The Prom so we tried it. First issue was no actual onsite parking, although once i realised i could purchase a rover ticket for a multitude of carparks for quite a cheap price, i found one that was quite nearby right on the beachfront, it was only about a 5 minute walk, so no big issues at all. We had a triple room, it was clean and nice, bed was comfy and the shower was great, quite powerful, having a fridge in the room would have been a bonus. The room would benefit from double glazing as the we were directly above the pub and Saturday night was very loud and trying to get to sleep was near on impossible, it kept my young daughter up until gone 11:30pm. The breakfast on offer was basic, but covered everything and it was very nice, the breakfast staff were lovely and helpful especially the lady in charge, on the last day my daughter wasn't well enough to come down so my wife stayed with her, she made my wife a sandwich to take upstairs whilst i ate my breakfast, a very nice touch i thought. The staff overall were very helpful, my daughter was ill in the middle of the night and the gentleman that helped couldn't have done anything else. For me a good judge of a hotel is if i would stay there again and i would definitely stay there again

Amazing location right opposite Brittania pier and next to most of the things you'd want. Most of the staff were lovely and the food in the bar was great. Couldn't fault the place really. The breakfast was also absolutely spot on! Would stay again in a heart beat.

Our stay for 3 nights during the May Bank holiday weekend could have been outstanding with better service and a bit more friendly attitude towards guests by some staff. The newly refurbished hotel is at a great location with the Britannia Pier, movie theatre, restaurants, parking and kids activities close by. Our one bedroom suite was nicely done up with a decent view of the marine parade and the ocean. The bar area is quite nice with good food and drinks and the staff there are very friendly. However, the other staff particularly front office/reception staff lacked enthusiasm and service orientation and so did the chef managing the breakfast. The attitude was one of indifference and we don’t care. The suite had a safe and music system that did not work. After multiple follow ups and promise to get the safe open for us us, the key to the which was apparently locked in the hotel main safe, that did not happen. The promise to look at how to make the music system work was not followed through. The request to replace the sparkling water with still was not acted upon. The house keeping staff did not replenish the supplies for tea and coffee diligently with white sugar and artificial sweetener not being replenished. The breakfast served was average and rather insipid. Worse still was the attitude of the chef who grudgingly dumped some hash browns on our table when requested and then rather rudely asked me to deal with the waitress when I was about to tell her to take two hash browns back as we did not want to waste those. She rather bluntly told me off even before I could tell her that. Her behaviour was rather odd and selective. A hotel is as good as the staff and unfortunately, most staff we interacted with were unhelpful and lacked the enthusiasm of being on their job. I am hoping the lot we interacted with are just a few bad apples. The hotel plays extremely loud music in the bar late into the night without much care for the resident guests. The loud music, noise in the corridors and the noise from the road due to lack of double glazing make it rather difficult to sleep well. Managing the parking in the public car parks in the absence of hotel parking is a hassle though not completely unmanageable. This hotel has the potential to be a great hotel to stay provided the smallest details are cared for and staff care for the guests with impeccable service.

Lovely clean room with comfy clean bedding and a sparkling bathroom..Food and waitresses excellent,We were part of a coach party but this didn’t stop us all getting our food quickly and still hot. The entertainment on 2 nights was very good, and we are returning again later on this year we enjoyed it so much.

Staff friendly and helpful on arrival. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. The restaurant offers good food. Highly recommend

The Prom rarely disappoints on a Sunday as their roasts are great. I took my Mum and family there for Mother’s Day. We all opted for a starter and main course, opting for their delicious roast. Beef and Turkey were both delicious, ample portions, nicely presented, hot and with a wide variety of veg. Service was great and obliging with our requests. Their cauliflower cheese is to die for and we were sorry we had no room for the lovely sounding desserts!

Can't fault anything about our stay at this hotel. All the staff from when we arrive to when we left were all very kind and attentive. The room was light, airy and big (not much of a view but we were at the back of the hotel so...) Breakfast was amazing as well.

Made to feel welcome on arrival, room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was also extremely clean.

This hospitality in The Pub on the Prom is just amazing. I travel all the way down from Kings Lynn to spend New Year Eve here, in fact I spent 3 nights here. The Team at the Prom are outstanding and makes everyone feel welcomed and relaxed such a friendly team , who are credit to Ian the owner who is an fantastic host. The food is outstanding too New Years Eve I had the Sunday Roast Beef dinner and it was amazing and so big I couldn't eat it all and then on New Year's Day the chef had a special on of Rack of Lamb wow top marks to the chef the lamb was cooked to perfection and the mash was lovely and creamy. A big thank you the the Prom team for a wonderful New Year and I see you guys very soon. Mike
