Swamp Rabbit Inn

I had the best stay at the swamp rabbit inn! My room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, parking was easy, and the location was perfect! The common areas were adorable and clean. I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Greenville.

Super fun and funky place to stay! Great area too visit! This place would be perfect for family reunions, bike enthusiasts or families.

I liked it was within walking distance of things to do. There was no plug near the bed. (Goat room) The pillowcases looked stained. Floorboards could be wiped down in the bathroom. The rug could have been vacuumed better as well. Just minor details that can make it spot on. Overall it is a great concept. The house was cozy.

Well stocked breakfast items, especially for self serve. Keurig in kitchen and in each room. Bathrobes in each room with plenty of towels and blankets. Very clean and newly renovated. Great to have a front porch and two back decks to enjoy. Would be great to have owner answer the phone rather than just text and email. The double owl room has a very squeaky bed. Need to repair or replace.

Our cycling friend group rented the main house. The first thing we noticed was that there were many opened and partially used food items in the refrigerator and freezer. There was confusion on our end as we were under the impression that a selection of food items would be available for a “continental” breakfast so we were naturally concerned about the food we found. There was a cake stand with some mini muffins also, but when I asked about this, the owner shot me back a screenshot of the website where it states that if you rent the whole house bf is not included-ok fine since we were not interested in it after what we saw. There is an ant problem in the kitchen that needs extermination service. The outdoor pool area is nasty. Pool itself is scummy and unusable. Chair cushions moldy and unclean. Gazebo filthy dirty with large spider webs in the corners and pollen covering all surfaces. When I inquired about this, she stated the pool doesn’t open until June 1 - that info is not anywhere on the website. She also asked if I would like someone to come over and take care of the webs ( nothing about the other things) and I said yes great thanks. Next morning two of us went out to check the Gazebo and that was when my friend’s foot went right through the rotten boards as she stepped onto the deck surround. I sent another final text to the owner about it and again she replied “Oh goodness, I’ll have to get maintenance over there.” Well don’t count on that happening because the property is sorely neglected. And by the way no one had attended to the gazebo as she said they would. Not one word of apology for any of these conditions either. I could continue on with lots of other little issues like knobs that fell off the plumbing fixtures, bedroom ceiling lights that didn’t work but those were small annoyances in comparison. I cannot recommend this property. It’s just too dirty and neglected. Owner doesn’t care about her guests, quality of their stay or their wellbeing.

Really enjoyed our stay for a few reasons. Place was clean and comfortable. Shared kitchen was nicely stocked with coffee, bagels, muffins, eggs and bacon, milks, etc. So nice to fix a decent breakfast and not have to pay extra or eat a lousy "continental" breakfast. Loved all the local cycling info. It was also super convenient to the downtown main street drag so we didn't have to use the car. A nice alternative to a B&B outside of town or a chain hotel. Recommended.

Fantastic location..we never moved our car and walked. Bedroom was comfortable and clean. Very inviting kitchen and seating area We would stay here again.

A tray of molded bagels and brown/black bananas greeted me on my arrival to the Swamp Rabbit Inn. Most of the dairy products in the refrigerator were out of date. I sent a text to the “management” but no one answered me. No action was taken to remedy the situation during my 3-night stay. I was the only guest at the Inn. I would not recommend this place. It has potential but only if “someone” cares about guest satisfaction. The place is remotely managed, not sure this is the best way to handle things.
