Just recently returned and I must say this trip was very average and not what I expected from Sandals. Excuse for any misspelled names! Pros: The spa was the best part of my trip, 5 of us received massages, the names I have on hand, Marsha, Shantell and Sashana they were EXCELLENT. The rest of the staff were very friendly especially Shon, and Ketia by seaside and the pool. They looked out for us daily. The resort was clean, and modern. Cons: Food was LACKING. I mean, we were highly disappointed. Banyu had the worst asian food I've ever encountered. I mean your local Chinese/Asian restaurant could run laps around that place. My sister was sick the first night, and the French wasn't any better. Italian was the best experience besides the very anxious and passive host. we opted to go to Sandals Ocho for the last night because we couldn't take another day of eating at the restaurants. (The manor was a great Caribbean option) I booked the Travertine building "penthouse" which is the 7th floor. I would not spend extra $$ for this, you have a view of a very dirty roof to your left and I just couldn't look past this, however to the right was a very nice view. (Others may not care much about this) My parents were on the 3rd floor and paid less and their view was 100% better. I couldn't sleep for 2 days because the "motion sensor" light in the closet turned on and off literally every 30 seconds and I am such a light sleeper. I called for service twice, only when I received a message on WhatsApp from Sandals that must be autogenerated to guest did this partially solve the problem. They just turned the light off entirely so I had no light in the closet. Our AC wasn't working properly, and had to call twice to fix. I'm sure the solution was simple but we didn't understand why the room wasn't getting cold. I ended up figuring out eventually and told the person who arrived I believe the issue was fixed. The next day someone showed up to fix the already resolved issue thinking this was a new request so there was a disconnect. House keeping was inconsistent, didn't replenish items like tea bags and used items. I felt like I spent so much time calling the front desk or stopping by concierge. Lastly- this part of the review is on the behalf of my sister who had butler services. Dexter was very friendly and helpful, the other butler Ricardo was very inconsistent. She booked her own spa appointments and had to figure out a lot of things on her own which to me defeats the entire point. The feedback she shared with me I couldn't believe. She's the type to just let stuff go, and on the last day he actually asked her where did they leave the tip.. not how was your stay, is there any thing else I can do.. but only one question where was his tip. And apparently one of the other workers at the resort heard him and her face expression was of just pure shock. Unacceptable! Everyone has their preferences, I am sharing my experience.
