The independent hot spring in the room is very pleasant. It is hidden in a bamboo forest. I also recommend the breakfast and dinner at the hotel. If you stay, be sure to include double meals. The dishes will be changed according to the check-in date.

The quality of the food, or the menu, is not as good as it used to be

The setting, the rooms, and the food - all absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are incredibly spacious (the beds are so comfortable) and well-designed. The private onsens were exactly what we wanted in a ryokan experience. Quiet, private experiences with great food. Beautiful views of the bamboo grove in the mountains. Both the dinner and breakfasts were breathtaking. Each course was a work of art. We were able to get menus in English and kept the original Japanese ones as well as they were so beautiful. For breakfast, we do recommend going for the Japanese breakfast - the experience was so memorable. Highly recommend!

great room (with exterior bath area) and service, relaxing environment. The hotel staff is always focused on our needs as adjusting the choices accordingly. The food is fantastic, particularly the teppanyaki dinner in a private room in which a private chef was cooking for us in a counter.

We arrived late afternoon and were immediately made to feel welcomed. The Resort was a beautiful blend of modern and traditional Japanese styles. Every detail was thought of, down to the special choice of feminine kimono for my partner. Our room was spacious and pristine, and the private outdoor bath looking onto the forest made us feel as though we were truly relaxed. The welcome snack, dinner and breakfast were all delicious. Special mention to our dinner experience, which was amazing. Each course beautifully presented and a feast for our tastebuds. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful made sure we were well taken care of. The secluded location of the resort was breath of fresh air and the perfect getaway to combat our busy lifestyles. Thank you Kinnotake Tonosawa for a wonderful experience.

Wow! What a beautiful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. Time stops from the time you enter the property. Accommodations and service make u want to savor every minute of time of your stay. Slight hiccup w/omakase meal but still wonderful. Miyahira-san provided us the most wonderful service explaining so politley the services and amenities, the food. She was a delight and added to our experience.

A truly exceptional experience, the moment you cross the bridge into Kinnotake Tonosawa resort, you can feel your stresses melt away! I stayed here with my best friend and we loved every moment from the heartwarming welcome being served welcome drinks and sweets, to the incredible kaiseki dinner (every dish was truly delicious, one of the best I’ve had in Japan!), to relaxing in our own private onsen overlooking the forest and bamboo. The room was spacious and the bed was so so comfy, slept so well! I love that the the drinks in the fridge are complimentary and that there are free-flowing drinks in the lounge too which is a lovely touch. Bar Bamboo is also worth checking out after dinner as they have plenty of classic cocktails! The service is exceptional and many of the staff speak English too which is really helpful. Overall, I cannot recommend this resort higher, it is flawless, and I’ll definitely return one day!

Great quiet location and comfy rooms! The outside bath in the crisp mountain air was truly relaxing, and the refillable fridge was an extra nice treat. Food was solid, decent breakfast, delicious teppanyaki experience. Staff was always incredibly helpful and friendly, most spoke English quite well which was great as an American.

This ryokan in Japan stands out as the best I've ever experienced. The service is impersonal and attentive, with staff always ready to assist and ensure your comfort. Both breakfast and dinner, included in the stay, are of exceptional quality. The room cleanliness is impeccable, leaving no room for complaints.
