The dinner and breakfast were great, and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. At first, we got lost while finding the entrance, but a helpful staff member made an effort to lead us all the way to the reception area. The rooms are big and spacious but a little warmer than expected for my wife. It is just nice for me during autumn. The room we had was in a corner, and it had a great view!

The facilities are really too old. The quilt is separated by a sheet, which is black and yellow in color. The quilt is very slippery. The bed and pillow are extremely uncomfortable, which affects sleep. The Kaiseki dinner is perfunctory.

Quiet and beautiful location, approx 20mins walk from Hakone-Yumoto station. There’s a shuttle bus for 200 Yen per trip. Breakfast and dinner included. Meals were fresh and delicious. Service was good, however staff had limited English proficiency as the hotel seemed to be catered to Japanese. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Nanpuso :)
