Hotels Near Spryfield Shopping Center in Halifax

The location is not far from the city center, it is very convenient to go, the hotel facilities are very complete, the gym, the swimming pool are all, the room is big enough, there is a refrigerator, microwave oven, stronger than the hotel, parking is free, there is free breakfast, sausage, fried Eggs, bacon, bread, snacks, drinks, coffee, very good! There are many award-winning medals in the hall, and the service attitude is also very good. The key point is that the price is also cheap, highly recommended!

Our trip from the moment we arrived was perfect. I’ve never seen a whole hotel’s staff so friendly! The room is beautifully done, we had an amazing view of Citadel Hill, very comfy bed, in-room Nespresso, plush towels - an absolute treat. We had a fantastic meal at Chopped too. We loved it so much we’ve cancelled our upcoming reservation at a nearby hotel for March Break and are returning to the Sutton Place.

I used to have the experience of booking an overseas hotel when I said there was no order and communicated many times before finding the order. I was quite worried before I checked in this time, but it turned out that the check-in went smoothly, and I will still book hotels with Ctrip in the future.

Our third stop on our tour of the maritimes was the Hotel Halifax. It had a great location close to the pier and it was connected to the indoor walkway that connected to the mall, the ******, and other hotels and businesses downtown. This was very convenient on the day it rained during our stay! The rooms were very spacious and had very comfortable beds. No issues with hot water, air conditioning or internet. An unexpected bonus was having a water refill machine on each floor to fill up reusable water bottles. There was no breakfast included but the hotel was connected to the indoor food court at the mall and there were lots of restaurants nearby. At the hotel you can pay for parking at the indoor parking garage connected to the hotel, and it allowed in and out privileges. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommended to anyone wanting to stay in the waterfront area!

Positives: - Convenient location to the Halifax Citadel and the harbor, 2-3 blocks each way. - Good hot water - The room itself is old with limited electrical outlet, but the hotel installed extension cords and additional electrical outlet bases on the nightstand and on the desk to make charging easy and convenient. - The room was also dark due to its original design and age of the building, but the hotel brought in more lights and evenly spread-out the room to ensure no dark area/spot, which I appreciate. Negatives: - Hairs found on top of toilet and floors of the bathroom, lots of short hairs, disgusting - Watermarks on the coffee table and nightstand - Many pin holes on the walls and wall papers - When raising the dirty bathroom issues to the hotel, they sent an inexperienced person, Jared, over to help but the issues did not get resolved and made false accusations about me being rude to him when I was speaking at my normal voice and sharing cleanliness issues. - Toilet dripping all night - Booked for VIP package but did not get VIP service in both room quality and condition as well as staff attitude (particular from Jared) other than waiving the self-parking fee. - When speaking with the hotel manager about the issues after Jared's inability to solve it, the hotel manager plain outright told me over the phone that he did not care how I felt and was not willing to help solve the situation, and sided with his employee, Jared, who had negative attitude and accused me of being rude to his employees. And deflating the real issues, which is disgusting and unclean floors with many hairs. And made suggestions on using towels to ”cover up” all unclean hairs and dirty floors in the bathroom. - The hotel did not own up its own responsibility when dropping the ball on cleanliness and got defensive, worse yet, turned around falsely blaming me for being rude and treating hotel employees badly when it's them who started negative attitudes. Other: - Check in staff, Stella, was efficient but came across as impatient because she kept on cutting me off before I finished speaking. - Olga, the second check-in staff, was more cordial - There is no valet parking. The closet self-parking is across the street, no parking right underneath. In other words, if you sign up self-parking with the hotel, they will send you to a large parking garage across the street, and the hotel will provide you with an instruction slip on how to find it and find your way back to the hotel lobby. The parking garage entrance is on Albemarle St. If you follow hotel's instruction slip carefully, you should find your way back without issues. Always remember where you park. Or just ask people around. The walk from where you park to the hotel lobby is at least 10 minutes assuming you don't get lost. You would cross a big indoor food court and a walkway and escalates before getting back to the hotel lobby. The hotel shares parking structure with Hotel Halifax across the street. - No breakf

This hotel was very clean and comfortable and the conference area was very well set up. The complimentary breakfast included with the room was delicious. The room was very spacious and the beds very comfortable. The staff was very courteous. I would definitely stay at this establishment again.

I always enjoy my time at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Halifax-Bedford when I’m travelling to the area. The staff are very kind and accommodating. The hotel is located near some great restaurants and activities. Looking forward to my next stay!

Friendly staff, excellent customer service. Stayed on 2 separate nights and rooms were clean and comfortable. Free breakfast was a bonus - would recommend the breakfast sandwiches. The hotel also offered nice touches like complimentary tea and coffee available 24/7 in the lobby and snacks for purchase. Parking was also very convenient.

I didn't pay too much attention to the location, because we went there just for pure sleep and left the next day. The cleanliness is OK, but the fly in the ointment is that the bathroom lights are very dim, which is not very good for the senses. For the service, I told the hotel my membership number in best wersern when I made the reservation. I thought the staff could notice it, but it didn't. In fact, the experience of staying in a star-rated hotel will not be too bad, the comparison is to pay attention to the details. Set up, because it was during the covid-19 period, the breakfast was allocated by the staff, there were not many varieties, but it was basically enough. There is no milk. There is no milk. Location is good. Convenience to airport is nice. I stayed in Room 351. This room (and ones like it) are hazardous. Immediately after entering this room there is a noticeable step down (and the room is not very large). Similarly there is a noticeable step up to the bathroom entrance AND to exit to the balacony. On my first attempt at going to the bathroom I tripped on the step and fell face first in to the wall. Definitely a horrid start to the stay. As a retired engineer I looked at the room and realized that the 'sunken' part of the room was not providing any value and could be easily removed. The floor could easily be built up so that there is one level common to the entrance, door to the bathroom and exit to the balcony. Nothing would be lost in terms of room usage and guest safety would be greatly improved. Shame on Ascend and Inn on the Lake for sacrificing guest safety. Despite having a very long day and being exhausted, the bed was not conducive to sleep. On the previous night I had spent at a Wyndham hotel and its bed was so comfy it was hard to wake up. Inn on the Lake provided uncomfortable sleep and as a result I did not sleep much. And finally, the breakfast. Choice Hotels advertises a Grab n Go Breakfast. Hmmmmmm. Cold muffin and cold yogurt is what equals a Grab n Go Breakfast. Not even any fruit offerings. I don't stay at the hotel for its free breakfast offering, but a muffin and yogurt is not a breakfast - no matter how it is advertised. I have stayed at Inn on the Lake previously and really enjoyed it. But that was a different room. After this last episode I will drive longer and stay somewhere safer.
