We stayed at this hotel for one week recently.. First, no where does it say you must be prepared to climb A LOT of steps. This is not for someone with mobility issues. I booked a room with a walk in shower. This is not what we were given and had to be moved. The room was not as pictured. VERY dark and very damp and musty. We asked to be moved and had the same experience in the second room. Had to request room deodorizer for the musty smell. Charged $40/ day hotel fee and yet had to carry our bags too and from our room. Upon check out I was told there was no one to help care luggage and golf bag 30+ Steps. Food is good, staff is very nice. Rooms are dated, dark and not like the photos. Guest services told me on two occasions I could find local information on line. Just not service oriented. CANNOT recommend but Good location.

Despite making a reservation weeks earlier for the Thursday night BBQ (which they had and confirmed) they had no table prepared for our party of 7 but they quickly moved furniture and sorted it out. The food was delicious but the service was slow with removing used plates etc. the staff seemed more busy chit chatting behind the bar versus paying attention to the patrons. The atmosphere was nice. I would go back - the food made it worth it.

We are in our 70s, and have stayed at Horizons (closed), Coral Beach Club (private club; as guest), Ariel Sands (closed), Pompano Beach, Southampton Princess (closed), Hamilton Princess, and the Rosedon. Rosedon is our favorite. We love the location, the food, the grounds, and, especially, the staff. Our special thanks to Matt, Homer, Kash, Peter, Daniel, Anil, Francis, Damien and everyone else we met whose name I can't remember! To a person, the staff was warmhearted, friendly, and competent. What a solid and well trained team! Finally, the food at Huckleberry's was outstanding, without being over the top silly. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the island. Over the decades we've noticed a steady decline in the once-special Bermuda ambience. High finance, especially insurance, has replaced tourism as Bermuda's backbone. And it shows. More traffic, more noise, more litter, (and many more sloppily dressed cruise passengers). Even the once gorgeous Botanical Gardens suffers greatly from neglect (except for the new café, which is a fun visit). If we visit Bermuda again we will be staying at the Rosendon! We arrived just prior to hurricane Ernesto, the staff was amazing . Took incredible care of us. The hotel never lost power and staff stayed on property. Our favorite was Homer, ever friendly and professional. Food and bar service impeccable and a good value in Bermuda. BEAUTIFUL OLD SCHOOL BERMUDA HOTEL! We will be back

Hotel is in a great location for Hamilton, walking distance to town and the peer. As soon as we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with a no-charge room upgrade (Rm#2). The entire staff was friendly and always accommodating. On Sunday we came late for breakfast by mistake, but they serviced us anyway. Nice touch. Breakfast menu was plentiful and tasty. Housekeeping did a good job each morning cleaning our room and replenishing towels. We asked for extra towels and pillow and they came to us quickly. The hotel staff gave us good suggestions for tourists. Would recommend.

This is a very nice hotel, with an elegant main building. The hotel bedrooms are in two wings, on two levels. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and Hamilton is a great hub if you want to travel around the island. Our room was well furnished, with ample hanging and drawer space. The king bed however was a little too large for the room, with the left hand side being too close to a window, insufficient room to even walk on that side. The bed was comfortable but also very high, making it a stretch to get in and out of you are less than 5ft 7ins. The housekeeping was very good, except our laundry did not get returned on time, and we had to chase it before it eventually arrived the following day. Our bathroom has a strong musty smell which we realised was coming from the bath drain and we kept our door open whenever sitting outside. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool, sitting on our terrace, and having the buffet breakfast in the main building each morning. Most of the other diners appeared to be members of the public, business people, rather than hotel guests. We did not have dinner in their Huckleberry restaurant as we weren’t sure why everything seemed to be accompanied by curry froth, puréed carrots etc, and it was all rather expensive. The hotel is lovely, but you do need to be fit to really enjoy it. If you have any mobility problems you will find the steep driveway a problem when walking to and from the hotel, and the numerous steps to reach your room are an additional problem. We had asked for a ground floor room, and were even told we had one when we checked in. But we didn’t, we had a first floor (2nd floor US). This turned out to be a blessing as the ground floor rooms are down by the pool, with even more steps up the hotel and restaurant. We were disappointed to find that the hotel is not near any bus stops, as we travelled every day around Bermuda on the excellent buses and ferries. The bus map says there are bus stops by the Ferry Terminal but the Visitor Center told us we had to go to the Bus Terminal itself to actually get on a bus. Another long steep walk. That’s of course not the fault of the hotel, just the way the bus routes are planned. The hotel was very helpful in booking our taxi to and from the hotel, which was excellent with our driver telling us a lot about the Island. If we were younger and not bothered by hills and steps we would stay here again. However, the day we left they announced in the local paper that they are starting a renovation this fall, including redoing the bathrooms, adding a pizzeria at the front of the hotel and a bar by the pool, which will be open to the public. The last would not have appealed to us as we and other guests relished our quiet evenings sitting out on our terraces.

Small boutique hotel that has captured our hearts. The position of this hotel affords easy access to Hamilton by foot. The Huckleberry Restaurant run by Chef Damien and his kitchen has competence, creativity, flavor and attention to detail for breakfast, lunch and dinner! They went above and beyond to help me with food selections that accommodated my allergies. Every morning our family met on the gorgeous veranda for breakfast. Try all the dishes they are superb . The pool area and lounge areas are beautiful! At the heart of every great hotel is its staff. From management to their support staff they are the ones that remember your name and ask how you are doing and can they help in any way. Outgoing and thoughtful. We are already planning our next family get together next year here.

The Rosedon is a combination of classy and cozy. It has an old school classic sophistication, but with all the modern amenities. Mere feet from bustling streets, it's porch, gardens and pool area are quieting sanctuaries for modern day worries. The food here is outstanding and we took advantage!!! My wife and I would like to shout out to Homer, who answered all of our questions regarding things to do (...and details on how to get there), Mathew who took care of transportation and our drink order which he personally delivered to the pool area. Lovely Marian who dutifully queried our plane info and arranged pickup and drop-off for the airport (navigating our many JetBlue woes). York and Daniel who were our breakfast heroes. I am only embarrassed to not recall our excellent waiter Saturday evening (we were room 10), but would like to recognize him. Our "people" experience at the Rosedon begs for a return visit sooner than later.
