I've stayed at lots of Bella Vistas over the years and I've actually stayed at this one before. I was shocked to see how much it had deteriorated. My curtains were absolutely disgusting, covered in black mould. All of the furniture looked cheap, worn and chipped. In the bathroom, the vinyl on the floor was peeling back from the wall. I've attached photos of all of these issues so that you can see what I mean. On the plus side, the linen and the carpets were clean, and the woman who checked me in seemed nice. Also, and I know this is not the motel's fault, it now seems to be in the middle of an emergency-housing area. I witnessed two distressing incidents on the street (one violent) in the two days I stayed there, both involving women with small children. The police were called to the later. I reiterate that this isn't the motel's fault, but it does affect the enjoyment of the stay. In addition to that, this was the most expensive motel I stayed in on my trip: $200 for a studio unit! At $100 I may have overlooked some of the problems, but I couldn't believe what bad quality it was for the price. I actually chose it due to its 4.5 rating on Trip Advisor, and this is the first time the rating has let me down.
