A little out of the way but 12 minutes walk from my client
We stayed here for one night as part of a coach tour with Leger Holidays. First impressions were not bad, but the room could have done with some updating/refurbishment. The carpet was stained, worn and thin in places, although the room appeared to be clean. Although we expected the fairly large restaurant to be open, we were warned before arrived that it was going to be closed the night we were there, which was disappointing. We ended up getting a meal in the city centre before going to the hotel. Unfortunately, there was no hot water in the bathroom early next morning and we couldn't get the shower to work at all.

It is certainly not the best located hotel for those willing to discover Hanover, though aware that the city doesn't have a handful of attractions for tourists. Famous for its fairs and congresses, Hanover has a number of hotels spread all over the city. This Mercure is closer to the highway A2 than to downtown, yet one gets there within half an hour with the tram line 3. There are no facilities near the hotel, like shops, banks, restaurants, anything; one need at least three tram stations to get something. No wonder it is often chosen for seminars and meetings, one reason why it is often full up and with a high fare. The check-in process was a bit clumsy but eventually everything went well. Rooms on the 6th floor are spacious enough and quite appealing, really functional in all senses. Noise isolation is perfect, once can see and not hear the planes landing nor the construction nearby. Breakfast has everything one needs but presentation doesn't make it so attractive. Staff there doesn't make any effort to be nice or friendly to guests, only within themselves. Again, it wouldn't be the best option for tourists but it serves congresspeople very well with what it offers.

The worst hotel in recent years. My room had such a stained carpet that I had to get slippers from reception. Generally it was quite old, but if it at least looked clean, it would be bearable. A colleague of mine had a room that smelled incredibly unpleasant. Two other colleagues complained about the strong chemical smell of the bed linen. If I were to go to Hanover again, I would not choose this hotel. Positive: The breakfast was OK and the hotel staff were very nice.

The noise from the next room was so loud almost the whole night that we could hardly sleep. Cigarette smoke also came through the connecting door. The room itself was nice, the staff friendly and the buffet food was OK. I can't recommend this hotel though.

Hello, I checked into this hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of October! Check-in and the first day were good! On Wednesday evening I extended my stay by another night because my work was more extensive than I had initially thought! I went to reception first and then to my room! After a few minutes in my room I noticed that things were missing from the fridge. Annoying, but not so dramatic, I thought! Because when I was in the bathroom I noticed that my personal hygiene products were missing! I then went to reception and reported the incident! The employee was very uncomfortable, she took the missing items and passed them on accordingly! On Thursday morning a member of reception spoke to me about it and assured me that the matter would be resolved! Then in the evening I got an answer that I had not expected; I had expected an oversight, but they claimed that the room was completely empty, so there was nothing in the bathroom and the bag was packed in the closet! Wrong, I always unpack and only pack again the evening before I leave! And they actually claimed that it was one person's word against another's! On Friday morning I received the same statement again. I was completely speechless and angry at the same time!

We stayed in the newly renovated business hotel with a large family group and had the place to ourselves (as it had just opened). I (and the whole family) can only say positive things: the whole hotel is very clean, tidy and quiet. The mattresses are very good, the breakfast buffet is excellent. The evening and lunch meals were also almost impeccable. Very good value for money. The lobby is comfortable and very attractive (as I said: it is a business hotel). The location (motorway, tram) is ideal. Large (paid) parking lot. From the outside, the building, which probably dates back to the 1970s, looks rather modest, but that is probably difficult to change. We all felt very comfortable and, above all, WELCOME. The extremely friendly and courteous staff deserve special mention.
