Friendly staff, clean, tidy room with a nice balcony. Breakfast was fine.

I’ve been to Hanoi several times and I like to try new places to stay.  From reading past reviews I thought this would be a good choice, but I was wrong!  I happened to be in Hanoi during a very cold streak.  The hotel has no heat and I was freezing the whole time there.  The hot water in the shower only lasts about 2 minutes and then it quickly gets cool.  Breakfast was a joke.  The only person working at reception took me to another hotel three streets away to have a very poor quality breakfast.  I didn’t even bother with their breakfast after the first morning.

It’s me, not them. I select all my hotel rooms based on Expedia’s VIP recommendations. By doing so, I get extra awards and points, for my Gold Status Membership. This VIP rated hotel is the first time that process failed. I’ve made twenty five booking with Expedia so far this year. I came very close to dropping them, after this stay. I was picked up, from the airport, as pre arranged, by the hotel. After being dropped off, I was asked to pay for the transport. Then, I was told there wasn’t a room available. Now, keep in mind, this was the first night of a FIVE night booking. I was then walked to their nearby sister hotel, the hotel that was also the breakfast location for my original hotel. The next day, I was placed in a room, on the second floor. There are only two rooms per floor. I’m guessing that because I arrived at 9:30 pm, my room was resold. All the other floors are priced higher. Being such a small hotel, there was no where to put me, without upgrading me. My second floor room had a small window that looked out to the hallway. It was like being back in the Peace Corps. At some point, the staff realized that my VIP discount, for airport transportation, didn’t happen. I was refunded the difference.

The most beautiful hotel in the old quarter with great breakfast decorations. Hotel is located in the center and easy walking to many restaurants nearby. Max was superb and very attentive. Good time in Hanoi

My friend and I booked a room with 2 separate single beds. When we checked in, I thought it was odd that the staff asked my friend to email her booking information from booking.com. It seems that they should already have the information. When they brought us to the room, there was one queen sized bed. We notified the staff and they said they would fix it.  Shortly after, they showed us the same room and they brought in a rollaway bed that looked old and uncomfortable.  In addition, with the rollaway bed in the room, the space was cramped.  We requested a room with two separate beds, as we had booked and they tried to convince us that there were two beds,  They also said that someone else took the last room with two beds. This was unacceptable to us, so we asked to cancel the room and get a full refund since they had no other rooms with two beds.  They were hesitant about the refund but we finally got our money back. Luckily we found a room with two beds at the Sunline Hotel. That hotel was much nicer and a better location near the lake.
