Wee were blown away when we entered this hotel, it waslike a stately home here we were honoured guests. At check-in, nothing was too much trouble and it was a pleasurable experience. The spa was made ready just for us, with towels and water being brought specially. Our room was hugely comfy, with lots of space and everything we might need. We ate in the restaurant, a fixed menu which was adjusted for dietary needs. It was truly excellent food, very fresh and imaginative. Breakfast felt very individual, we were well looked after by a charming waitress.

The hotel feels like staying in a friend’s lovely country house. We stayed in the Macon suite which was very spacious and tastefully decorated with a separate lounge area and an enormous comfortable bed. The bathroom is great with a wonderful deep bathtub and separate shower. The grounds of the hotel are serene and picturesque and we enjoyed sitting on the verandah of the main building taking in the sunshine. Dinner and breakfast were generous and delicious. Service could not be faulted. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay.

We are staying at this stunning boutique hotel at the moment. What a find!! We are just so impressed with our whole stay! The attention to detail of all the staff is outstanding. From the moment we arrived we have been impressed by the impeccable attention to detail of each staff member. Our beautiful room is perfectly decorated and is sparkling clean! Tonight we dined in the restaurant! The food was the best food we have eaten in many years! We could not fault one thing! It was absolutely perfect. From the homemade bread, butter, the little sorbet ice cream between courses, the entree and the main meal, absolutely delicious! The grounds are impeccably maintained, the pool, spa and tennis court all amazing. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel! It has been an absolute pleasure to stay here. Thank you for making our holiday so wonderful.

Lovely surroundings, beautiful building, spotlessly clean, superb dinner and breakfast, and outstanding service from the staff who were most welcoming and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is quite expensive, but one gets a lot for one's money, so worth it for an occasional treat.

Food was great - prices reasonable - service excellent. The rooms were spacious and warm. We also used the spa massage which was first class. We had a cheese platter and champagne on arrival which was also excellent. Great night to spend for my wives birthday.

This is a luxury boutique hotel and the service reflects the price. The room was huge and extremely well appointed with all the amenities you’d expect. The staff were super friendly and helpful whenever you dealt with them and the food was absolutely gorgeous - different menus each evening and good value for the quantity and quality of what you got. The spa was surprisingly small with a single indoor hot tub and a small seasonal pool which was too cold to use in winter

Loved the room with patio and sheep out back. Food was delicious.
However the place seemed a bit dated and in disrepair……. bikes, pool, tennis court.
The staff were wonderful !

The old Mangapapa hotel was a great place to stay really nice room and food. We were a little disappointed we had ordered the welcoming package which hadn’t been done for us or tho the young girls quickly sorted that out. The other downer was we ordered the twighlight package that includes massage, tea and sweets with champagne and an spa bath With 2 course dinner and finish off with a hot chocolate by the fire which we never got. The massage was really nice but that’s when it stopped no champagne ready no spa ready to Jump into and the staff had no idea we had booked and pre paid for this twighlight evening package witch really put a down on the experience and the rest of the night Dinner was really good we change from the two course to the 3 and was happy with the service. After dinner we went to the bar for some cocktails but were very disappointed in the bar staff not being able to make a simple cocktail. Other than that the setting of the buildings and rooms were nice but we would not stay there again.
