Pleasant but basic
This is a clean no thrills hotel in Fall City, SD. The hotel is managed by the owners. They are pleasant and efficient At 3:45 pm the office opens and processing starts. The hotel is .2-.3 miles from the commercial center and across the streeet from a grocery/liquor store. The rooms are clean, but small. A box air conditioner is used. There is no breakfast, but coffee is available after 7:30am. There is a small pool and some picnic benches in a grassy area.
In short, this is a hotel that has pluses and some minuses … my impression is that they are making an effort and fine tuning it. This is not a luxury destination, but you can get your zzzzs in and do the activities you came to do, but be aware of the limits here.

This is a MUST stay !!!!
Owners were awesome, I was impressed with their hospitality and the cleanliness of our room. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay at this quaint little Inn and would definitely stay again should we ever come back this way.

Best lace to stay on the heart of the Black Hills.
Been staying here for many, many years and the place consistently meets our expectations and delivers exceptional clean rooms, caring and accommodating owners and staff, and is just a 10 min walk from shoppes and restaurants.

Nice clean rooms, outdoor pool for the kids was clean and great, ac for the room was a little under powered and noisy but beaides that would definitely stay again for the price and location!

Very basic and clean property. I want to thank the young man who was looking after the place while his family was away. He was very young for this responsibility but he tried very hard to help his customers!
Small rooms and a refreshing small pool after a long hot drive.

Nicht für mehr als 1 Nacht. Winziges Badezimmer und keine bequeme Sitzmöglichkeiten. Sehr laute Hauptstrasse.
Wir haben 2 Nächte verschenkt und etwas in Custer gebucht.

Lantern Inn was so wonderful. What a cute and locally run Inn. The owners are super nice and the property is great. Rooms are clean and have everything you need, location is great with places that are within walking distance. Hill city is a cozy little town and in middle of the places we went. Great great location for visit Mt Rushmore or Custer state park. Equal distance to rapid city as well. I will definitely book here again.

Remodeled and updated is SO cute. Rooms are very well done with colors and surfaces in addition to maintaining some charm of original hardware. Price was good. Onsight owners were available and friendly.
We have stayed at other corporate owned hotels in Hill City and The Lantern Inn was like finding a little gem
