Huong Sen Hotel

Nguyen Hue Walking Street Ho Chi Minh City|0.14km from Temple Tree Spa
Beware. This hotel has No lift, only Staicase to the Breakfast buffet rooftop Restaurant on the 7th floor and to Roof top Pool and Spa above it on the 8th floor. The hotel lift only goes up to the 6th floor! For those who cannot climb stairs like me, it was a rude shock ! So please keep in mind. I would have never booked this hotel had I known! The pool and Spa are well maintained and also have a Jacuzzi hot tub , a Steam Room and Sauna. The Pool is very tiny and like a jacuzzi size! The rooms are a bit dated and stuffy. The AC looks old and the cooling is not too good. Other than that the rooms are big, spacious and have a mini bar and kettle for tea coffee. We got a large room with a dbl bed and 2 single beds, no balcony, so it was nice and big. The regular deluxe dbl room, no balcony is a bit on the small side. Room w no balcony is quiet as its not on the street. The bathroom is very good and big. But the tub is very high and hard for someone with mobility issues and arthritis. So I would well avoid this hotel at all costs. Its just Not suitable for those with mobility issues and accesibility needs. Its very centrally located, next to Hguyen hue walking street, near all landmarks. Sheraton and Hilton and all big hotels very close. Its in District 1 so perfect location as many major attractions are a stones throw. Or easily 10 min walkable. Buffet breakfast is very good, staff is cheerful and efficient, its clean ( albeit stuffy , dated rooms) , with big baths and makes for a good city hotel with an open terrace breakfast buffet, Full service Spa, roof top pool, hot tub , steam and Sauna! If you are going to not spend much time in the room and are okay with dated rooms, its a good deal mainly for the location and above amenities !

It is difficult to imagine this hotel was once three star quality. Frankly, it’s hard to believe this hotel could legitimately earn one star. The promotional photographs provided on various booking websites and the property’s website are simply not accurate. According to the hotel, they are for “illustration purposes” and are not actual hotel rooms in this hotel. I paid for an upgraded superior deluxe room and the pictures speak for themselves. My room was neither superior, nor deluxe. Dingy, old, rundown, Blank walls, thin, worn mattress, moldy bathroom fixtures, worn out carpet, non-functional light switches, and I could go on. From a practical standpoint, there are no power outlets near the bed - I had to charge my phone in the bathroom where one of the two power outlets was broken. This hotel’s best days are behind it. Many rooms here have no windows, which is why I upgraded to a Superior Deluxe, which has a window but only in the technical sense. Mine has a window that looks out into darkness. See the picture below taken at mid-day. No light whatsoever. Just a physical window. The room obviously used to be a smoking room. Smoking is no longer permitted but my room as well as the corridor do have the odor of stale cigarette smoke. The cigarette burns on the furniture remain evident. My advice is to choose a bite that has a well-established reputation. There are many with comparable prices. I hope my review can save at least one traveler from the great disappointment that would otherwise await them at Bong Sen.

1st Stay: We stayed two nights on our arrival in HCMC and our room was excellent with a window view, a very comfortable bed and pillows and very modern bathroom all with nice amenities, kettle, tea and coffee etc. The Staff at the front counter are so nice and friendly and helpful, always smiling and willing to assist. The breakfast was great with lots of choices of both Eastern and western food. The view from the 11th Floor Restaurant/ Breakfast area is spectacular especially at night when the Dinner cruise ships head up river. The staff at breakfast go out of their way to ensure you are looked after. They are only young kids but look after you so well and make a great Iced Coffee. 2nd Stay: We were so impressed with this hotel we spent out last four nights there again. We opted for a larger room which for the price was exceptional. Massive bathroom, with a bath and glassed in separate shower. Excellent amenities, replaced each day, two air conditioners , one for the bedroom and one for the TV room area. We had two TV's and heaps of space to put or luggage plus two arm chairs and a bench area. Once again the Staff were happy to see us again as we were to see them, all smiles and happy people, Thank You Ms Christina, Ly at the Front desk and all the other wonderful staff. We miss you all!! Our flight was a late night flight so we opted to stay and pay for half a day which was not a problem. We were sorry to leave and if we come back to HCMC will stay again. The location is away from the hustle and bustle near Nguygen Hue St and taxis are cheap to travel around in. We ate lunches and dinners while there and the standard of food was excellent, thanks Chef!! Highly Recommended to Travellers.

I love the fact that the hotel location is in the center right next to the Opera House and walking distance to everything; nice restaurants, tourist attractions and shopping malls. The room is super clean and the view is very nice. However, the hotel should improve on their breakfast room and how they manage the guests during breakfast. You are 5 stars hotel and the breakfast place is crowded like your road. The table is so right next to each other with the strangers until we feel like we eat in the same table with the relatives that we hate. The person who asked forbour room number at the reception could have asked us right away when they show us the table of what would we like to drink. Not just like seating us down and disappear. And we have to look for someone to order our coffee. Should you manage/improve this part accordingly, your hotel would be beyond perfect.
Me Gustas Central Hotel

Our first stop in Vietnam was Ho Chi Minh City. In Ho Chi Minh City, this Megustas hotel is the first choice. This hotel is located in a bustling downtown area, but it is extremely peaceful inside. From the hotel, it takes 3 minutes to walk to the Ho Chi Minh Concert Hall. Walk for another 3 minutes and you’ll find the city government building. Another 10 minutes walk is the famous Notre Dame Church, next to the famous Ho Chi Minh City Old Post Office. These are all tourist attractions in Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel's breakfast offers a wide variety of options. There are not many guests. Therefore, I was able to enjoy breakfast in silence, which was in sharp contrast to the extremely noisy streets outside. All other services are very good. Recommended to stay!

Pearl Central Hotel- Near Nguyen Hue Street

Pros: -The rooms are very generous sizes, even compared to our of city rooms -The rooms are relatively modern and have comfortable chairs and a desk chair, plenty of seating options -The room with a river view has a decent view of the river (partial though) -the rooms were clean -the people working at the hotel were polite and friendly. -the shower head had excellent pressure Cons: On check in I was advised my room did not have a window and was kindly upgraded for free to one with a window that looked onto two other walls and a section that was predominantly boarded up. Given the layout of the building, I estimate at least a third of the rooms are like this. While I appreciated this kindness, outside the window was mostly dark, and had have I been informed from the start (as other hotels in the area do) I would have chosen somewhere with an actual window. I ended up moving to a room with a window that looked outside at an extra cost (500k VND more for the night). I feel this lacked transparency and that I was a little duped into the situation by those managing the advertisement. Asia rugby centre point is 3 properties down, similar pricing and much more transparent about window options. From the outside it looked a little better. The furniture was cheap and although I am just one person and not large I was surprised at how much the bed moved when I got on/off it. The TV did not always register channel changes with the remote or buttons on the TV, but would allow them to be entered manually on the remote (i.e. inputting the numbers rather than up/down).

Great place to stay in HCM! After 2 failed bookings we ended up in Icon Saigon as a back up plan and we ended up staying there for nearly a week. The value you get for the price is the best deal! The hotel is modern, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very complete and in a very pleasant room with good views of the city. The rooftop bar is the perfect place to end the day with many available drinks at a fair price. The staff was very nice and available to help us anytime. We also had plenty of space to work outside the room and the location is perfect, with many restaurants nearby and right by the opera house so we couldn’t ask for anything else.
The Noble Swan Central Dong du Hotel

Bach Dang Riverside
Can’t fault this for less than $20. We had room 601 which is classed as an executive suite and had a large balcony patio with distant views of the river. Room was clean if a bit dated. It’s a block away from Dong Khoi with its high class designer shops so drinks and food in the area are quite expensive. We headed to Pham Ngo Lau which is cheaper but a 25 minute walk. It’s therefore a strange location for a budget hotel. Very central though- 15 mins to the War remnants museum, 10 mins to the open top bus. Wifi in the room worked well, it had a fridge, A/c, TV etc and good quality bed. The bathroom was wet room style and not much privacy. Staff didn’t speak much English but were helpful enough. Good for the price.
