I am very disappointed as I thought I booked a room in Wrest Point but instead it was in adjacent property called Motor Inn. I felt that I have been cheated as the picture in the booking details showed me Wrest point Towel and not Motor Inn. I thought the room was called Motor Inn as I have not been there to know the existence of Motor Inn. When I queried about it, they said it was the agent's (trip.com) fault . To move to the main tower will cost me an extra of $80. I felt I have been conned and they should have placed the Motor Inn building photo instead of the tower of Wrest Point in their website for booking. (It is deceptive marketing - show you a ferrari for sale and got a lemon after you have paid for it) Motor Inn is an old building and does not have lifts to the room we were allocated and being retirees , we have to carry our bags up to 2 flights of stairs. On top of that, the room walls were not sound proof and you can hear every customer slamming their doors and flushing their toilets. I thought we have booked the room with the sea view instead there were only bushes as a window view. It was so embarrassing when I thought I could request for a room on a higher floor in wrest tower for good views but instead shown out of the door to an old adjacent building call Motor Inn. In all its websites and advertising, there is not 1 photo to show Motor Inn as Wrest Point . It has always being the tower used to promote the sale of their rooms. The Bistro food is poor quality and costly. We order from the caviary and the food came out to be cold and dry. We wanted to try the other 2 restaurants Kwan Ho and the one on the 17 th floor in the main tower but were told they were close. I thought being a top notch hotel, their restaurant will be open 7 days instead they are closed 2 days.( sun and mon). - the days we were there sat, sun, mon) They have a fantastic location but sad to say they don't have the marks of a 5 star hotel. The first picture is what I thought I booked but the second picture is actually what I got. The 3rd picture is what is in the website for booking and the last picture is what you get.

I stayed here one night as I had heard about Montacute and so wanted to check it out. It’s a beautiful building in a quiet location. It’s a backpackers for an older set of customer, or for people willing to pay a little extra than a YHA. A hostel environment with shared kitchen and bathrooms. I paid for a twin for myself - $110 for the night. My younger self would’ve loved it without question, but my older self was a bit tired from my day and so the loud chatter in the corridors late into the evening was a bit tedious. Earplugs helped and anyway after 12am things settled and I could sleep soundly in my comfy bed. Very close to nice coffee shops snd Salamanca.

We booked this hotel for its location. You can easily walk to Battery Point, Salamanca …etc. The room needs some upgrading as it seems dated. Housekeeping cleared our rubbish the first day but did not on the 2nd. Overall, it was was a wonderful stay.

The Bay Apartments are a good value but simple place to stay in Hobart. We stayed here for 1 night this week, in a 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was clean but small. It had an overpowering smell of cleaning products when we arrived but this dispersed during our stay. The bathroom is a traditional shower-over-bath, and there is a small living area and flat screen TV. There is a small cooktop and sink, and a bar fridge. The apartments are a short walk to a large range of restaurants, a Woolworths and a Cole. There is also a pub (almost) next door. It is a short drive to Hobart CBD and there are public buses out the front. We were apprehensive at first as it was quite noisy (noise from other guests and from the road), but this didn’t affect our sleep quality. There is parking outside the unit and one reverse cycle aircon unit in the living area. Don’t expect a fancy property- this is a basic but well presented unit at an affordable price point, not a $300/nt property. If you set your expectations correctly this is a very good property. The stairways to the upstairs appartments are very narrow and it is difficult to carry large cases up and down. I’d stay here again if looking for a basic stay in Hobart, but probably not for multiple nights.

Little bit dated. Booked through Qantas Hotels and somehow was upgraded. ( No requested room available? do not know.) Water shower deluge head is great. Plenty of towels washers etc. The body wash and shampoo bottles are squeeze to actuate, sounds simple doesn't it? Mattress very comfy. Pillow a little firm for me but I did have the choice of 5! You get a kettle and that's it. Fridge opens one way, cupboard door opens opposite way. Not user friendly. Mis mash of cups. No knife or fork. Had to book for a couple of nights the next week but was an extra 50 an night. Thought that was a bit unnecessary for a returning client booking the same room. We had two windy nights and the sliding door widows rattling was enough to keep you awake. Need to be wedged. Location to town. Excellent, walking distance.

The hotel is a bit far from the city center. If there is a car, it is more convenient, but it is necessary to spit it out. July is their winter. The living room has an air conditioner but the heating is not very good. The dining room is miserable, there is no air conditioning, and the coat is in a hurry. After dinner, I went to the bedroom, but the three bedrooms had only one radiator, but the room was not too warm. The other two rooms had a radiator and one had no radiator. After many negotiations, the blanket was finally warmed. Waiting for the electrical appliances, I originally wanted to check out, but I saw that they were very good. I thought about the trouble of changing rooms. (To check out, you must say before 8:00, otherwise you will be able to enroll the next day.) I had a good night's sleep, I didn't expect to continually trip, power off, and half of the hot water was washed in the bath. I hurriedly wiped it with cold water. This is only 5 degrees in winter. I asked them to repair it many times, the electrician could do nothing, the wires were old, the walls of the house were thin, and the warmth was poor. At 11 o'clock in the evening, in order to guarantee the next few days, I decided to re-book the room and check out the next morning. Foreigners resolutely disagreed with the refund of the same room, even if they were not able to agree on their facilities, of course, the final result of Ctrip's mediation was satisfactory, so the partners of this hotel should consider it, they have no bedroom. Air-conditioned, no air conditioning in the summer, I think it is uncomfortable, but the scenery outside the house is good.

I checked in an hour ago and have considered checking out. Bathroom is gross - shower, grout, and toilet. If the blinds are open, it leaves you exposed to people potentially using a walking trail outside your window, but with the blinds closed the room is very dim. There is a dead bug and spider web on/around my window. Walls are marked everywhere. I can scratch 'substances' off surfaces that clearly haven't been cleaned properly. The microwave both looks and smells like a pasta sauce disaster. It should be spotless. The arm chair in the room could use a decent scrub/be replaced - its arms are black. I was paying exactly the same price for a motel in Sandy Bay earlier this week and the quality far exceeded this one. Would absolutely not stay again. Its gross. No attention to detail. Really disappointing. Really want to go back to Sandy Bay!! Phone cannot pick up the Wi-Fi network. I was given a card with the password, but not the network name? Staying for convenience only to be near my elderly parents.

Basic room but very clean and well appointed. Very close proximity to all amenities of the cbd, uber eats was able to find us quickly and without hassle, also the establishment is very quiet of a night. The bed was comfortable and there was free Wi-Fi, for $85 a night, so close to everything and presented in this manner, I would happily recommend to anyone I know and will be staying again when we are down again. The only recommendation I have for the owners/managers is the shower cubicle itself is very small and I'm a tall guy and big build too, so moving around to shower was a bit hard but otherwise that's it. Thank you for a great stay, my partner and I will see you again on our next stay. 👍

We stayed here for three nights while exploring the area around Hobart. Our room had two single beds, a small table with two chairs and a couch. I liked the large window, making the room bright. Towards the door there is a small kitchenette: Extra sink (!), microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. There was also cuttlery and plates to prepare our microwave dinners. Perfect for our purpose. The bathroom was small but well done, plenty of room to keep the toileteries. Also there is a line to span to hang some clothes - great idea! Everything was clean and seemed to be new. There was always parking for us and we slept well. We enjoyed our stay and it was a great place to crash out for the night after a day full of sightseeing.

GGuest UserFabulous room. Large and comfortable with a massive bathroom. Plenty of room to have your toiletries out. Very comfortable bed and pillows. We had a corner room and would request this again on our next stay. Breakfast included in our stay was one the best buffet breakfast we have had. Staff friendly and efficient. No on-site parking but valet parking available. Excellent stay.

GGuest UserI stayed here for 5 nights as part of a Luxury escapes package, which also included breakfast. The hotel is in a fantastic location, being very central to all Hobart has to offer. My room itself, 7706, was huge, with a deep bathtub and views over to Mt Wellington. A nice fireplace beside the Cascade bar is nice to sit by, and the breakfast at Charcoal is a great start to the day (barista made coffee, anyone?). If you're looking to explore Hobart and all that part of Tasmania has to offer, you could do worse than book at RACV. All the staff were great, check in seamless. I really can't recommend highly enough. NB - there is some minor renovations that appear to be happening on some floors, but the noise did not impact me whatsoever.

It's very good to have a menu to order according to your taste. The house has a sofa. It's very considerate to have a waiter come to the room to open the sofa and put it on. GGuest UserClean and warm, with a historical and emotional hotel, the layout is very warm, the crafts are either left by the boss's parents or the boss's own collection, some of them are especially oriental, the boss John is very good, the kitchen downstairs eats casually There are a variety of locally produced honey jams. If you like Western breakfast, you will be more enjoyable. The location is very good and all can be reached on foot. Parking is also very convenient, the backyard will do.

AAnonymous UserI stayed at this youth hostel in Hobart for four days to give you some reference. 1. The landlord will thoughtfully send check-in information to your email before check-in. It is very convenient to check in unattended, which is very suitable for i people. Moreover, the landlord here is Chinese and there is no language barrier. 2. This youth hostel has only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers with 41 beds. During my stay, there was only 1 washing machine (one of the washing machines was broken and the washing machine usage time was limited). Although it is not completely impossible to wash clothes, But I need to find every opportunity to do laundry. We all live in a youth hostel, so I can overcome this difficulty, and then! I found that the dryer won't dry my clothes! Because I couldn't wash my clothes, I washed them in the bathroom one day and put them in the dryer. They didn't dry for two hours. Once I put the clothes in the washing machine for washing. Time was tight. It took 30 minutes to dry two clothes, but one was not dry. Reminder: Try to bring as many sets as possible to change. If the clothes are not dry enough and will stay longer, you can hang them by the bed and dry them overnight. Also, the laundry detergent of the youth hostel is on a grid-like shelf after entering the lobby. Don’t be like me and only found the laundry detergent on the last day after staying for four days! 😭 3. The hygiene condition of the youth hostel is much better than that of many youth hostels. In particular, the bedding and towels are very clean and the sleeping environment is very comfortable. Everyone will try their best to maintain a quiet sleeping environment. The hygiene level of toilets and shower rooms is tolerable. The hall was also very clean and bright, and I personally saw that every public water cup was wiped. 4. The staff at the youth hostel were very slow in replenishing shampoo, shower gel, and hand sanitizer. I think girls use these a lot, so they should at least check whether they are sufficient every day. But the staff may only visit once every two or three days. There are two girls' bathrooms. Except for the shower gel and shampoo on the first day, there is no shampoo in the first cubicle on the second day, and there is no shower gel in the second cubicle on the third day. On the fourth day, I studied Be smart, check if both sides are there before taking a shower, and then! The first stall had nothing and the second stall had no shower gel. Moreover, the hand sanitizer in the girls' restroom has been out since the third day, and it was not replenished on the fourth day. 😓 5. In terms of safety, it is still okay. At least if you put the bag in the aisle, no one will take it at will, and the food in the refrigerator will not be taken away at will. At least my Cheerilee was safe there for three days. but! I don’t understand why there are boys in the hotel I booked in the girls’ area for two nights! Although most of them are girls, why are there one or two boys? I think this is an oversight by the hotel, but the boys didn't cause much trouble to my sleep, so I didn't complain. I hope this aspect needs to be improved. p.s. I heard other residents, girls and boys, reminding me that this is a girls’ area, but the boy didn’t know what he said and couldn’t hear clearly, so he checked in! 6. This hotel does not have a late check-out service, but Ctrip marked that you can have a late check-out at 2 o'clock in the local area and an early check-in of 4 hours (I don't know if the early check-in service exists), so I used some points to redeem the service. Later, It was time to clean at 10 o'clock in the morning. I went out to play for a while and wanted to come back and take a nap before leaving. I asked the hotel cleaning staff and they said that there was no such service and the room had been cleaned at 10 o'clock. I reported this problem to Ctrip, and Ctrip quickly handled it for me and ended the problem by compensating me part of the amount. But if you haven't gone to the airport yet, you can store your luggage in the hotel. From my current point of view, it's very safe. 7. The lobby of the youth hostel has normal sockets in Australia, and the sleeping area only has USB plugs, so you can bring a USB plug for convenient charging, which is quite fast. Also remember to bring a mouthwash cup, toothbrush, toothpaste, and slippers. Have a nice trip everyone.

GGuest UserA great 5 night stay in the center of Hobart. It exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable clean rooms, good bedding and with good internet access. Importantly one of the few hotels in Hobart with its own parking. It is limited so you have to make reservations prior to your arrival , but then your place is guaranteed. The $20 charge is very reasonable and you can come and go as you please knowing that you will be able to park. The location is hard to beat an easy walk to restaurants , pubs, shops , constitution dock and the Salimanca markets. On top of this the staff were pretty special and made our stay very pleasant. I followed some of their recommendations and was not disappointed. Good coffee comes to mind from one helpful lady when I asked. A stay in the center of Hobart does not come cheap, but I found their price for a stay very acceptable in comparison to other hotels. A glowing report to say the least , but they surprised me with the quality of our stay and helped us very much enjoy Hobart. Thoroughly recommended. Would stay again in a shot when revisiting Hobart. Our previous stay in Hobart was 44 years ago for our honeymoon. Thanks Allurity Pete and Claire

The price is expensive, but the room is very poor. No hair dryer is found. But the service is very good. The location is also good. The price is high. The same price and cheaper hotels in Melbourne are more cost effective than here.

GGuest UserI stayed at a Imperial backpackers two years ago and was very keen to persuade my four friends to stay with me this time. Frustratingly, a bunch of little irritating things add up to a negative review, when actually Imperial backpackers should be a great place to stay. The kitchen is great, with lots of equipment and fridges and space for your food. The hot water in the bathrooms takes a while but it’s really hot when it does come through. Beds are comfy and the room had an efficient heater. And there’s a guy called John who is so helpful – he was a guest last time. I was there, but now he works for the organisation. All in all, it should be a five star place. However, in the past couple of years, I don’t think they’ve done much maintenance In our room, the locker doors were either locked shut or couldn’t be shut (and there was no place to put the padlock that the website suggested we bring!). Our flyscreens were also badly torn, while in our friends’ room across the hall, there were gaps at bottom and top of the windows, which let in both freezing blasts of winter air, and the hideous smell of cigarette smoke from directly beneath the windows. Stuffing several towels in the gap eventually did the trick, but it shouldn’t be necessary. And there’s a bunch of inaccurate/ misleading/ dangerous signage. Firstly, there are 2 huge fire doors as you climb the stairs from the night entrance. They both have large signs saying they must be kept shut at all times (they are, after all, fire doors). But they are both left open all the time, and I was told have been for a while. On the main entrance door, opposite reception, the biggest sign says office house are 9-5.30pm (same as last time) but right below it is another sign saying office hours are 9.30-230pm This shorter opening time impacted our stay in several ways,l. With that office only open from 930 to 230pm, eerything else is “ after hours”. So, if you want to use the laundry - you pay a deposit and a per hour fee - you have to do so between 930 and 2:30 pm. If you want to leave your bags during the day, after checking out at 10 am, you can only do so till 2:30 pm. (Last time we left our bags until 5pm , when we got the Skybus to the airport(. We phoned the Imperial number, at 3pm on day 2 , to ask for a second key to our room, and we’re told that there would be an “after hours fee” of $20, even though it was still 3 pm. None of this happened on our first visit, and the website doesn’t mention that all the services mentioned are only available 5 hours/ day. So, like I said, I should be giving a great rating, but I’d go for 2 1/2 stars.
