I was very disappointed when I got to my crappy old room...it was so hot in my room!! The a/c was barely working!! So I called the front desk to switch rooms... luckily she called me back and said she had another room for me... the new room wasn't really any better!! The a/c was in the back corner and still I couldn't feel the a/c!! I actually had to go to the back corner to feel a little air conditioned. We pay a lot of money to stay there and there rooms barely have working air conditioned!! We were very hot the whole time we were there!! So my friends and I will never stay there again!! And we will not recommend Waikiki heritage hotel to anyone!! Good luck...

Apartments (condominiums) and hotels are integrated and not classified by floor or tower. Residents and long-term residents are mixed. There is a front desk, and spaces such as mailboxes are the same as in apartment complexes. There is a swimming pool, gym, sauna, barbecue, convenience store, water server, and laundry on the 6th floor. Gym costs $5 extra. No housekeeping due to corona. Towels can be exchanged at the front desk. Inadequate room cleaning. Rather than calling it a hotel, it's better to think that some rooms in an apartment are treated as a hotel. You can't enter the building without a card key, and the gatekeeper is stationed separately from the front desk, so security is normal. Because it is an AQUA system, you can enter HoMA and Bishop for free with a card key.

The hotel is in a great location with beautiful sea views, close to the beach and convenient to the commercial street. The room is spacious, with a kitchen, a variety of tableware, washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers. It is the best choice for family travel.

The hotel location is 5-8 minutes walk from the bustling area, and it is also close to the beach, but the location navigation is not very clear because the hotel is located in the middle of the road. The hotel is not large, but there are triple rooms and quadruple rooms suitable for family travel. The overall value for money in the nearby area is relatively high. The disadvantage is that it is noisy and quiet. The hotel is more intimate to provide free breakfast in the room, guests staying at the front desk can also rent beach chairs, bath towels, beach umbrellas, etc. These are more intimate. But there is a problem. The room rate of Ctrip has been paid online. You can still charge a miscellaneous use fee of 25 dollars per day when you check in (that is, breakfast, beach rental, etc. mentioned above, and this does not matter whether you use You don't need to charge) This is not mentioned in the booking on Ctrip, it is not very satisfactory. So....got a great rate on Travelzoo voucher for 4 nights. This hotel has been remodeled and is still in process of completing some work in common areas. Starbucks opened when I was there, and Monkeypod will open in the future. Staff was fabulous! No complaints there. I was able to check in early and got a partial ocean view on floor 11. Room was spotless. My only complaint, and it's a big one for me, is the soundproofing. I should say lack of it! Doors are HEAVY and each open and shut on the floor nearby is a shock to the sleeper. Also, the wind whistled and the band and traffic comes right in through slider to balcony. The band stops at 9, so that was no problem, and very nice. But....I hated the door slams and other interior noises. If you are a light sleeper, I don't think you will enjoy yourself. I wore ear plugs. Location is superb! It really can't be beat. Pool is OK. The jacuzzi was kind of icky. One being closed the entire time, the other kind of grey and the one attached to the pool generally full of kids. No jacuzzi for me. Towels and loungers were readily available. No problems there. We did have a problem at restaurant/ bar with what we think was bad turkey or mayo on a club. My grandson and I got sick within a couple hours. Unfortunately for the maintenance staff there was some cleaning up to do in the bathroom. The staff responded immediately and were so nice about it. I cannot thank them enough. However, when I reported this to the restaurant manager in the morning I was not totally happy with his response. All in all, I would stay there again for what I paid for it.

Our second stay at the Royal Grove Hotel in as many trips, and we continue to be impressed with this small family-owned business. The Royal Grove is one of the few who do not charge an amenity fee, which makes a big difference in one's budget. The rooms are spacious - the ones with lanais are great - we sat out on ours every morning and enjoyed the bird song that served as our alarm clock. The staff are very helpful, and we wish we had caught the name of the young woman who never seemed to have a day off. Thank you for being so accommodating. The pool area is really fun and great for small children and families. There are boogie boards and beach mats to borrow when you go to the beach, and the best part of Waikiki Beach is just 1 1/2 blocks away. There is a handy ABC store at the end of the block, and a grocery store a few blocks away. Most units have kitchenettes, which we made good use of to cut down costs, and the laundry is just off the main common area and is efficient and affordable. The Royal Grove has a sense of community we haven't found in other hotels and Wednesday nights from 7:00pm - 9:00pm are ukulele night with many attendees having played here for over 20 years. We've stayed a total of 18 days over two visits and this is where we make our home in Hawaii - it really does feel like home when you are here. We highly recommend the Royal Grove Hotel.

The room felt a little old and dated (ex. noisy old air conditioner) but was comfortable, spacious and in a convenient location with a nice view! Paid extra for a parking space at about 28 dollars a day. Front desk was very kind! Wouldn't mind staying there again.

Great location and beautiful views. Next to Diamond Head in a quieter part of Waikiki. Next to shops and restaurants. Easy walk to the zoo and aquarium. The beach is directly across from the hotel and perfect for swimming, boogie boarding and sunbathing. The staff were fantastic! They were all very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to rent 3 items for free per day (beach chairs, boogie boards, etc.) Lovely pool located on the 3rd floor. Our room was on the 5th floor with a partial ocean view. We liked the room even though it was a little on the small side but worked just fine for two people. Nice shower with plenty of hot water. We are so happy we stayed here and would do so again.

Because I knew what I was expecting with the only room amenities being wifi and a fan, I was not disappointed. For future guests, this is a YMCA residence, not a hostel or motel. The building is older but it’s easy to get around from your room to the front desk. I actually preferred the no alcohol policy of the establishment because I’m in recovery (almost 6 years sober!). Just be prepared for a humid, hot night with a fan to cool you down. The only AC that I was shown was in sort of a day room area which was always open.
