The Sea Street Inn stands out as one of the most delightful experiences we have had in three decades of traveling the globe. The immaculate and charming inn is in a superb location, within easy walking distance of a beautiful beach and the heart of the village of Hyannis. The common rooms of the inn are comfortable and welcoming and feature two rooms of stunning fine art photography, one of which, with its big, bright flower portraits, is like a sunny indoor garden. The rooms are bright and cheerful, the porch and grounds delightful, and the breakfast stupendous. Adrian, the cheerful host, is an excellent cook, or should we say chef. Over the course of four mornings, he dazzled us with his service of four courses, consisting of two sweet and two savory small dishes. The food was simple and the ingredients fresh, prepared with precision and finesse but not fussy or pretentious. The offerings were imaginative and full of flavor: one morning, an exquisite half of a Cubano sandwich with slow roasted pork was one of the dishes, another morning, a croque monsieur that melted in our mouths, and always fresh fruit salads dressed with a bit of honey and lime zest plus homemade fruit and cheese pastries. The dining room is spacious and full of natural light and guests can watch Adrian work his magic in the open kitchen. After breakfast, we were already looking forward to the next one, and we can’t stress enough how unpretentious the food was and how relaxing and enjoyable the experience was. The dishes were nothing obscure or bizarre — they were mostly old familiar favorites, rendered with care and to a high standard and served by a congenial host in a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.
