Hotel New Regina

Good value hotel in great location. The staff, especially the lady manager, worked so hard, from early morning to evening to keep things on track, it is a minor disappointment that the bar closed so early, but understandable without employing more staff. Our room was smaller than the one we had the previous year, although we thought we had booked using the same criteria, with only one small window set high up the wall, so no way to look outside. This didn't matter too much, as we used the room to sleep/shower in and were out most of the days. The room with fridge and safe, was clean and comfortable with good bathroom facilities. Strange that as the previous stay, there was no soap/handwash provided. Breakfast was excellent with hot and cold choices, cereal, pastries, breads etc. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't always sit in our group of four as the 'four tables' were selfishly taken by individual couples (not the hotel's fault). The hotel's location could not be bettered, situated on the main market square, within a hundred yards of numerous bars and good restaurants, and a 5 minute walk to The Menin Gate. I would readily stay here again.

Quite a basic hotel. We chose based on location and for that it was perfect. In the heart of the main square, walking distance to bars and restaurants and the Menin Gate. Breakfast was ok (bacon, eggs and continental) and beds comfortable. Sounds a bit picky but there’s a weird unpleasant smell and mentioning here, so the management might change it as I think it’s from the cleaning which is done. Wouldn’t stay again as it is a bit too basic.
