Now usually I read reviews and think wow people over exaggerate until my trip to Ilford's finest hotel, the Rossmore. We had to stay here for one night due to last minute arrangements with work so landed here. We were greeted at what appeared to be a rip off of the premier Inn, but that was as close as it came to the premier Inn. Checked in went outside for a smoke to see a man lurking in the carpark(it was only 7pm) checking all the cars as blatantly as you like. We then took a journey up to the room. It was a good size for the price I guess but that was the only perk. We had one working plug, the shower water was hotter than the kettle and broken so couldn't really turn it down to dry off we were given a towel the size of a kitchen cloth, ok maybe that was an exaggeration, two kitchen cloths... We then checked out what Ilford had to offer for dinner but decided KFC was the best option. We ate that in the lounge where the bar is closed permanently and there is no pool table like the website shows, dined in there and headed back to the room, the light went green but we couldn't open the door so went back to reception and told the chap and his response whilst it was comedy gold was unhelpful, he said 'did you try pushing the handle down' to which my friend replied' f*** me mate I know how to open a door' another chap appeared from a door rescanned the card and we were in. Slept ok, woke up to discover black hairs in my bed a big clump...nice. went to breakfast whilst the lady was polite the food wasn't for me again you get what you pay for. I was pleased to leave it made me appreciate my own bad, strange place in all, I found out some more of the lads who were staying with us, had the pleasure of staying an extra night, went to breakfast saw a rat in the dining room, fortunately he was just passing through to go to his room and didn't stay with them for breakfast. In all an eye opening trip, I thought if these can run a hotel anyone can, try it for yourself don't take my word for it and enjoy... Good luck, you'll need it.
