This youth hostel actually doesn’t have a Chinese name. I saw someone recommending it in a book, so I decided to stay here. It turns out that in addition to the good location, there are quite a few other tourist attractions here. I will definitely come back to Jeju Island, but I will not stay in this hostel again.
Friends who read my travel notes know that I usually stay in youth hostels when I go out. Firstly, I have a limited budget, secondly, I can meet friends, and thirdly, accommodation is a place to stay for me. But the main problem with this youth hostel is:
1️⃣This youth hostel does not have a toilet‼ ️Yes, you read that right. To use the toilet, you use the public toilet of this building, so the building toilet in the stairwell outside the youth hostel does not have air conditioning. What is the experience of wearing a down jacket and wearing a large size in winter, hahaha... Also, I don’t know about girls. The men's room has a toilet and a urinal. The stench was overwhelming. There are many people queuing up.
2️⃣There are no lockers. All things can only be placed next to the bed or tucked under the bed. Backpackers like me don’t have a locked trolley suitcase. Even if I go to take a shower or use the toilet, I have to carry a bag with my documents and cash with me.
3️⃣Check-in time is 16:00 and check-out time is 11:00. I went back to the youth hostel during the day and wanted to take a nap, but the door and windows of the room were wide open, saying that they needed ventilation and hygiene. Then I curled up in the quilt and took a nap, and I was freezing.
4️⃣ You must bring your own slippers. You need to change into slippers when entering this hotel (basically this is the case in youth hostels everywhere). They are not disinfected and are not exclusive for everyone during your stay. Everyone wears them together. The better youth hostels I have encountered provide disposable slippers with labels.
5️⃣I stayed for 2 nights and did not encounter what others said in a book: projections will be played in the public area at night or the boss will play and sing. Although everyone is quite qualified, from the guests to the boss to the front desk, they believe that silence is golden and they can do their own thing quietly in the public area. The boss drinks every night. Sitting on the sofa, drinking cup after cup... I have stayed in youth hostels so many times, and this is the first time I have encountered such a situation.
6️⃣Having said that, the location of this store is indeed very convenient. You are right on Qixing Road and Dongmen Market, and it is not far from Muguan Yamen.
For breakfast, you can take your own cereal, milk, coffee, bread and jam, but remember to bring your own cup and cutlery, because the hostel's cutlery and cutlery are all shared. There is a hair dryer and curling iron in the shower room, which girls may like. The showers are separate, but the dressing rooms are shared by men and women.
However, this hotel is still a bit far away from the center of Jeju. Just close to the east gate.
In short, not recommended.
