The property was built in the Edo period, this tranquil hot spring inn is located 11 km from Kenroku-en garden in Kanazawa. It's quite close to from Morimoto train station. There is lots of free parking space, both breakfast and dinner are included but one must arrive by 6pm for dinner, which is served in a cozy restaurant. The gender-segregated communal bathhouse has both indoor and open-air pools with natural hot spring water, which is coffee brownish colour. There is a theatre stage which host an annual performance too. Amazing experience and well worth the visit. The hosts were so friendly.

Very good, service, hot springs, breakfast, dinner are all good, a good accommodation experience, not too far from the station, pay extra to upgrade dinner, the beef is delicious, the wine is also good, they will take the initiative to take a photo for us before checking out, very considerate

It's pretty good, with good environment, good service, and rich and delicious breakfast and dinner. The hot spring experience is average, and I hope there will be drinking water in the room.

I stepped into this hot spring hotel that day. It was very beautiful, exactly like the photos on the Internet. The staff are friendly and the food is of good quality. I will go back many times if I have the opportunity.

This is a historic hot spring family hotel decorated with ancient objects and mountain wildflowers. It was booked at Station B and saw a video of a blogger who felt healed at the hotel. There is almost no public transportation from Kanazawa Station to the hotel and no commercial taxis around. The hotel takes 25 minutes and costs about 250 RMB. There is a warm welcome at the door. As soon as you enter the hotel, you smell a strong musty smell. The room you booked is arranged between bananas. There are two large glass porches at the end of the first floor, which are very bright. There is a simple garden outside. After sitting in the room for a while, the musty smell was too strong. I thought it was because the first floor was damp. I moved to the second floor and the room was much smaller. I turned on the air conditioner and opened the windows to ventilate for a long time, but the musty smell persisted. Many Japanese guests occupied more than 20 rooms, and half of them were occupied. I hope that the dinner was not arranged in the restaurant on the third floor where you can see the stage. It is a small cubicle meal on the first floor. I am very disappointed. The beef is simple and the quality is not good. The breakfast is even worse. This can be said to be the poor quality I have eaten at more than 2,000 yuan per capita. The food is not comparable to Hoshino Kai's, nor is it comparable to Ginsui-sou's restaurant with more than a thousand people. I think the room and facilities are OK, but the strong musty smell prevented me from falling asleep all night. I took out the pajamas I wore now. There is a strong musty smell. I have stayed at Arai Hotel Nishimuraya and other century-old hotels. None of them have a musty smell. This is the most musty place I have ever stayed. I felt comfortable after checking out. There is only one large bath. The hot spring water is very good, brown, smooth and tasteless. The staff service is also good, but the smell is too strong and terrible, which is the biggest complaint when booking a hotel in Kanazawa. Secondly, the old Japanese-style bed-making hotel after Kanazawa Tea House. Goodbye, the place where the beds are piled up does not look very clean. The outstanding one is the Grand Hyatt Sainoi Garden. Do you know how the Jincheng Tower will be tomorrow?

Having stayed at a number of Ryokan over the years the charm can sometimes wear off as the facilities and welcome are copy & paste from one place to the next. But.. Motoyu Ishiya was something a bit more special. Much more traditional and from an older time this was something to be savoured. From the remote mountain setting to the formality of the staff, Motoyu Ishiya sets itself a level above the regular ryokan. The walls speak of history (keep in mind this Ryokan dates to pre Meiji restoration and the times of the samurai) The quiet calm of the place is reflected in everything you find there including the dark sulphurous waters to soak away your troubles. With fresh snow on the ground the area was transformed and a very good night was had. Well recommended for a touch of times gone by
