Stayed at the Melia Zanzibar for 10 nights... Pure paradise. Long review but do read!! It's a huge resort. Accomodation spread through out. We stayed in the Ocean Beach Bungalow which was amazing. Similar to a lodge, wooden floors and walls with a thatched roof, a balcony with a swing seat, set in front of a beach with the waves crashing every night, feels very private and special. The room is turned around twice a day, morning then at late evening, felt fresh every time we walked in. You have to keep the balcony closed at night as the mosquitoes find their way in! Security - gated entrance to the hotel anyone has to check in with security guards. There is security guards everywhere, even on the beach. We even had one floating around our beach bungalows from morning till night. Cameras everywhere. Staff: We want to say a special thank you to the staff who made our trip truly memorable with their attentiveness, kindness, and genuine smiles. Shoutout to Muhidini, Andrea, Saied, Veronica, Anna, Musa, Doud and Peter (we love you, Peter!)❤️ Food - The options is one of the best we’ve had in a resort, a different theme everynight at the buffet with light/laid back entertainment. At 10pm you can chill at the main bar and listen to some live music. For folks with children there is a mini outdoor cinema area at arms length to the main buffet, showing animation. There are other restaurants on site you can see on the website. Beach - is very nice! You never struggle to get a sun lounger any time of the day. It's not a case where people are leaving their towels on every lounger, saving them in the morning. You get drinks and food served anywhere you sit! You never have to go to the bar to top up, the staff is above excellent, they keep coming round chatting and asking what you need. This is on the beach or near the pool, everywhere literally. The restaurant on the beach is super, nice to sit in front of the ocean and have lunch or dinner. The beach boys are there but they are just friendly and not aggressively selling unlike some countries I've been to. Cleanliness - If your room is a bit of a walk away, you don't even have to walk. There are buggies available 24/7, though the walks are nice as the resort is beautiful, green, full of flowers and trees. Not to mention bush babies in the evening! The resort is kept immaculate everyday, leaves are collected everywhere, someone's always cleaning! And the communal bathroom in reception/beach etc are cleaned more than regularly Service - Overall one of the best services we’ve received anywhere in the world. The fact that someone will check if you need food/drink regularly (not just once then expect you to go to the bar yourself) is top service, you feel pampered, spoiled. The staff show alot of respect and manners, especially with women, they don't stare, no uncomfortable feeling at all. The vibe here is take it slow, easy, no stress. A few of the waiters/waitresses don't speak strong English, for me it's f
