This little gem of 23 rooms, tucked away along the eastern coast of Zanzibar is very quiet, peaceful and has all the amenities needed for a peaceful retreat. The food is very fresh, well made, and the staff very attentive to individual needs. The owner is very hands on and charming. A great experience for a staycation getaway

We loved everything about this place; the view at the ocean, the big beautiful swimmingpool (there is also another smaller one), the beach were you can walk far distances in both directions, the lunches at the beach in the starfish bar, all the super friendly people who worked at the hotel, the big green gardens at the property with all the flowers. We rented a supercute spacious cottage surrounded by trees and flowers with a private backyard with cosy seats and again;oceanview. There's oceanview wherever you are! The beach was cleaned every morning and as soon as the sea was on the rise again you could swim in it. (You do need swimmingshoes for rocks etc) I can mention one thing that could be better otherwise you might think this review is not real and that is that after a couple of days the breakfast could use some more variation although we didn't really mind. If you like a quiet, small and personal beautiful green hotel where you can still feel that you are in Tanzania than this is it.

Un séjour inoubliable, la vue des différentes piscines sur la mer, le Beach bar de la plage privée juste magnifique. L’hôtel est le dernier de la plage ce qui assure une tranquillité. Le personnel est au petit soin comme rarement nous avons pu le voir. Tout du petit déjeuner au dîner est excellent les plats changent chaque jours. Attention prise anglaise et quelques coupures de courants qui ne durent que quelques minutes mais normale pour l’île. Nous reviendrons ici c’est sure !

Shooting Star Boutique Hotel in Zanzibar offers stunning ocean views, delicious locally inspired cuisine, and a peaceful atmosphere. We stayed in the charming Room 1, which was beautifully decorated with local touches, featuring a cozy four-poster bed and a private veranda with breathtaking ocean views. The staff were incredible, especially George, the manager, who gave us a warm and memorable welcome. Perfect for a relaxing island getaway.

Stets sehr freundliches Personal. Eine tolle Organisation von Ausflügen (u.a. Stone Town, Gewürzfarm), bei der man sich um nichts kümmern musste. Zwei immer saubere Pools, beide mit Blick auf das Meer, ebenso ein ruhiger Strandbereich am Ende des Strands. Aus Anlass unserer Hochzeitsreise wurden uns eine Gesichtsmassage und ein romantisches Abendessen mit Meerblick spendiert, vielen Dank! Unsere Haus-Hälfte war sehr geräumig und wurde täglich sehr ordentlich gereinigt. Auch ein Fön wurde auf Nachfrage problemlos gestellt. Die ganze Hotelanlage ist sehr gepflegt und weitläufig. Ein besonders Lob an die Küche. Alle Speisen haben uns durchweg positiv überrascht und sehr gut geschmeckt, das war absolut toll.

The moment i arrived i was greeted by the friendly office team, who made us feel right at home, exactly what you need after a long flight. The food was amazing. Every meal was a delight, from fresh seafood to traditional Zanzibari cuisine. Always great options with the menu changing daily. The location is simply stunning. Just risen from the beach our room (1) was just perfect, we enjoyed breathtaking views and easy access to the beautiful beach. To add, the view from the infinity pool is something else!! I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a memorable escape in Zanzibar. I’m already looking forward to my next visit! Once again thank you to all the amazing staff who truly made the experience.

We checked into the hotel and everything seemed all right at first. The hotel was almost empty and the counter tops, tables and chairs were sticky because they’d never been cleaned. Then, lying in bed, the mattress stunk like an old canal and the bedroom pillows had blood stains on them. When confronting the owner about it, he didn’t give a tiny rats bottom about it and told us to leave. Please stay away and avoid this place!

The Shooting Star Boutique Hotel is ideally located on a quiet part of a stunning beach. The hotel facility has every amenity you might want at an island resort while not being overwhelming. The restaurant food was delicious. Beach bar fun. Pools ideal. Rooms very comfortable. Grounds gorgeous. Staff very helpful and welcoming. I wish I was back there now.
