As the title suggests, we are already feeling nostalgic for Kuwa Zanzibar, we have just returned from this wonderful winter holiday and we can't wait to return! Here hospitality is everything, Angelica and Emanuel are true hosts, and being a small Lodge at the end of the stay you feel like a big family, guests and staff together. We booked directly by email with Angelica and she reserved the new suite on the upper floor for us, very nice, large and quiet, always well furnished in line with the other suites and apartments in which we had stayed previously in these two years, comfortable bed , TV, new linen, bathroom with large shower and hot water which is not a given in Zanzibar! always well cleaned by the girls who made us find flowers and decorations on the bed. Every time we return there is always some new detail and an enrichment of the common areas and the increasingly lush garden, every morning a hearty breakfast awaited us in the bar area and a relaxing atmosphere in front of the swimming pool with pancakes, pancakes, eggs, cooked at Esta, fresh juices, delicious fruit, milk, tea and coffee, even hazelnut cream was never missing. Kiwengwa beach is a stone's throw from the property, with good restaurants nearby, the area is quiet and at the same time close to various services, for sunbeds and umbrellas it is possible to go to a private affiliated beach by paying a small supplement, or decide to freely choose where to spend the day. Angelica organized some wonderful experiences for us, we went on a Dhow trip to snorkel and explore the seabed of Kiwengwa, one day we went to an orphanage in Pwani mchangani to bring gifts, basic necessities and school supplies, an experience that made us filled our hearts and on the last evening he organized a romantic dinner on the beach in collaboration with a restaurant on the sea to thank us for coming back, everything was wonderful and spectacular with the illuminated pier, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We recommend Kuwa to everyone, couples and families who want to experience the real Kiwengwa away from the super tourist circuits and capture the true essence of the island. See you soon!

Ohh the Kuwa!! My favorite place!! A special mention goes to Angelica and Emmanuel, the owners of the house, they are special! And beautiful!! She, surrounded by the splendor of pregnancy, affable and always in constant movement, Emmanuel, a passionate musician, with his enchanting smile, have made kuwa a home!! This is how it feels as soon as you step foot inside the entrance. Surrounded by the magic of greenery, among the lush vegetation, there are the welcoming rooms with makuti roofs. Spacious, airy, functional and with a refined design, equipped with every comfort, they are carefully designed to satisfy every sense!! You will meet people like Esta, a jovial and discreet cleaning lady and more, who will meticulously tidy up your room every day, creating splendid decorations for you with sheets embellished with fresh hibiscus flowers. The bar, in front of the swimming pool, with its relaxation area between hammocks and sofas, will welcome you every morning with a breakfast, which will make you start your day in the best possible way. Fruit juices, freshly prepared, tea, coffee, various fruits, omelettes, chapatis, crêpes, Nutella, jams and local pastry products. All this, seasoned with pleasant background music that mixes perfectly with the surrounding atmosphere. The quiet beach, a two-minute walk from Kuwa, will allow you to take long walks or enjoy the enchanting spectacle of the tide and appreciate its various changes at all times! Bottom line, this is not a tourist place. This is, ABSOLUTELY, the best place to relax and breathe in the Zanzibar air!! We stayed at Kuwa from January 21st to 31st. Wonderful place. Silent. Clean rooms and towels every day. Once a week they prepare a typical Zanzibari dinner for a fee of 15 euros each. Really fantastic breakfast, very fresh fruit and special mango! The beach is a 5 minute walk away and is fantastic to reach. Definitely coming back.❤️

If you are looking for a peaceful place while having luxury, a magnificent garden, a fabulous swimming pool, a lounge to relax and have a drink, then do not hesitate. Kuwa is the ideal place with magnificent rooms equipped with air conditioning, refrigerator, iron, kettle, terrace and superb decoration. Angelica, Emmanuel, Estar and the whole team are adorable and will help you have a great stay ❤️❤️

Durante il nostro soggiorno a Zanzibar passiamo sempre alcuni giorni in località diverse per conoscere le diverse realtà, quest’anno abbiamo alloggiato al nuovo Kuwa Zanzibar, un Lodge composto da due grandi appartamenti completamente equipaggiati e due grandi Suite, una piscina bellissima un giardino rigoglioso con aria relax una grande terrazza all’ultimo piano dove si fa la colazione e si passa del tempo insieme agli altri ospiti. Abbiamo trovato questo posto su Booking, aveva ottime recensioni, cercavamo un appartamento indipendente perché avendo amici a Kiwengwa non stavamo mai fermi in un posto quindi non volevamo avere orari o impegni e a pranzo mangiare in appartamento.Intanto inizio col dire che si trova a pochi passi dal mare due minuti a piedi attraversando una stradina , in una zona ben servita , e accanto ci sono ottimi ristoranti /bar e piccoli market locali per fare un po’ di spesa. Ha una piccola zona privata in spiaggia con ombrelloni e comodi lettini proprio di fronte a “ Il Pontile “la spiaggia di Kiwengwa è bellissima e lunghissima , è vero che è molto frequentata da turisti , beach boys e Masai perché è piena di Villaggi ,ma la zona spiaggia del kuwa è una zona relativamente tranquilla( per la spiaggia ho fatto un altra recensione). Noi abbiamo preferito fare la colazione servita da loro piuttosto che fatta da noi perché per pochi giorni non aveva senso fare la spesa, tra l’altro era molto abbondante con ottime prelibatezze preparate dallo staff e soprattutto dalla gentilissima e simpatica Ester , mi ha fatto delle frittelle buonissime, il chapati , il pancake le torte, frutta e succhi sempre vari e freschi, cappuccino, caffè etc etc. L’appartamento era composto da sala e cucina, veranda enorme, una camera matrimoniale, un bagno con doccia, A/C e pale, cassetta di sicurezza, ferro da stiro, phone, cucina attrezza. La struttura è piccola ma sicuramente in fase di ampliamento e miglioramenti da acquisire nel tempo da quello che ci ha raccontato la padrona di casa “ Angelica “ che insieme ad Emanuel hanno creato questo piccolo paradiso . Tra l’altro li ringraziamo , perché siamo arrivati di mattina prestissimo alle 5 e ci hanno comunque permesso di stare nell’area relax offrendoci la colazione, aspettando che veniva pronto l’appartamento . Consiglio questa struttura sia a coppie che a famiglie che vogliono vivere kiwengwa e Zanzibar in tutta libertà. Inoltre sanno consigliare ottimi Ristoranti! A presto alla prossima!

Excellent structure a stone's throw from the sea. Very comfortable interiors with attention to design. Breakfast needs to be expanded a bit. Friendliness of the staff at the top. Local manager of remarkable efficiency. There is no restaurant but there are many good options nearby.
