The beach is very dirty. There is a lot of garbage on the beach at low tide. There are many reefs in the sea, which is not suitable for swimming. The hotel basically has no services and no choice for breakfast.
I booked the same Junior suite as my friend on booking, but the same room type we booked on Ctrip was downgraded to a double bed room that was half the size. The hotel called the small room a sea view room, and we had earned the price we paid on Ctrip. In the end, Ctrip failed to negotiate, but gave a 100 yuan compensation coupon.
In short, I don’t recommend this hotel at all

Resort trop cher pour les prestations en Thailande. Architecture très jolie, emplacement agréable près de la plage. Personnel un peu froid, qui ne correspond pas aux attentes que l'on a de l'accueil thaïlandais, on a la sensation qu'ils ont été formés à l'occidentale, un peu impersonnel, aseptisé. En fait on aurait dû chercher une guesthouse sans piscine par rapport à nos attentes de sourires et d'échanges plus chaleureux. Notons que la piscine ne sert à rien puisque la mer est bien accueillante et à bonne température. Piscine très fraîche (toujours à l'ombre) Baignoire (inutile) dans la salle de bain (qui prend un bain dans un pays équatorial et qui plus est où la ressource en eau est un problème ?) Pas mal de moustiques. Achetez l'antimoustique local, car les produits 5/5 et autres antimoustiques Tropicaux ne fonctionnent pas du tout. Accès pas très pratique quand on arrive en songthaew (taxi local partagé), ils nous déposent au petit pont de la rivière à 5 min à pied, pas de problème sauf si on a des valises à roulettes, difficile à transporter sur la plage. Au passage, les songthaew de Koh Chang ont le monopole et pratiquent des prix exorbitants. A fuir. Ceci dit, nous avons apprécié notre séjour malgré tout, l'hôtel est confortable bien que les matelas soient un peu durs à mon goût, petit déjeuner copieux (buffet de qualité), bon emplacement et calme ! Les seuls sons que l'on entendait, c'était les geckos, les oiseaux, la mer et les singes. En arrière-plage (derrière le BangBao Beach resort), suivez les petits chemins, vous trouverez de petits restaurants adorables et délicieux, notamment Mandala Café, notre favori de tout le Sud de l'île. Le meilleur paneng de tous nos voyages en Thailande !

We paid approx. 300 USD for staying at this place for a romantic getaway and we were hugely disappointed. After check-in we found out that the remote for the the air conditioning wasn't working. Staff came back to the room countless times over the next hours to fix the issue without being able to do so. Eventually, they managed to turn the aircon on but they took away the remote claiming they would return it straight away. After another couple of hours, the room was freezing and we had no way to turn the aircon on. This is when we found out that there was not even hot water in the shower or tub. We walked once again to the reception (no telephone in the room, despite the hefty room rate) to ask for assistance and literally waited hours for someone to come in and fix it. At that point, we were forced to cancel our reservation for dinner at a restaurant to wait for the staff to fix everything. It was already late when they finally managed to fix the problem and have the working remote for the aircon back. In consideration of all the inconveniences suffered, I contacted the hotel manager by e-mail asking for compensation. The only answer I got was "Happy holidays, we will fix things for you". On the following day, when we went back to our room after spending the day on the island we found another surprise: again, we didn't have hot water in the room! We walked for the millionth time to the reception and again they sent staff to fix it. In the meantime, also the TV stopped working. I wrote to the manager asking officially for a refund complaining about the extreme poor service we had had at their hotel but they refused any kind of compensation. Please be aware that once they have your money, there will be 0 chance to have it back in case something doesn't turn out as expected. Do yourself a favour and book a hostel instead, you will get a better experience than the one you will get at this scammy place.

Best position on beautiful beach, lots of sunbeds dotted around among the trees, enabling you to have your own space. Lovely, welcoming and friendly staff. Good food including the breakfast. We were absolutely blown away by our spacious beachfront villa, and our view of the sea in the mornings when waking up! The room was a more expensive option but we felt it was well worth it! We appreciated the lush well maintained gardens, the staff were constantly tending them and sweeping both them and the beach, keeping the area spotless! The property also has a lovely, good sized pool. We also enjoyed good massages at a very reasonable price. There are many beach restaurants nearby, which allowed us many different options both for lunch and dinner. There are also some nice eating options on the road at the end of the beach. The area in the evening is generally pretty quiet, which suited us but if you want late night life this beach area may not be for you. You can get a taxi or songthaew nearby during the day quite easily, we went to Bang Bao pier, and had a delicious seafood meal there one evening. Our only slight negatives were the thin sunbed mattresses, not good for those with achey backs, however seem to be the norm on Koh Chang, and accessibility getting in and out of the pool could be improved, which would help older guests or guests with mobility issues. Despite these slight negatives overall we would say this is one of the best beach hotels we have stayed in anywhere.

Ontzettend genoten van dit gastvrije hotel met heerlijk verfrissend zwembad, ruime kamers en uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet. Massages op het strand waar ook andere restaurants, barretjes en resorts waren. Chivapuri is bij uitstek het fijnste hotel van het zuiden van het eiland.
