Hotels Near Sai Ri Beach in Koh Tao

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our stay here. The location of the hotel is amazing, on the beach along a very busy ***** of restaurants and beach bars which was great. However, the hotel itself was sadly a let down. The hotel keep whistling birds in cages just outside the hotel rooms so expect to be woken at all hours by birds whistling louder than we could believe. The room we were in was very basic to the point where the only plug socket was by the front door, so to dry my hair I had to stand at the front door with no mirror or chair… The shower was a fixed height (very low) so my partner had to be on his knees to wash his hair and I had to bend significantly despite not being very tall. The room was very dark with basically no natural light at all throughout the day. The bedding was just a thick blanket, that I imagine isn’t washed between guests, in between two loose sheets so the blanket kept coming out of the sheets. The toilet was very temperamental and wouldn’t always flush properly. One positive is that the air con was strong however to circulate the air we also had the fan on and this made an annoying screeching noise when it turned to a certain point, which again, woke us up during the night. We didn’t have breakfast because we had a look at what was on offer and decided to go elsewhere as there are lots of nice local places to eat. The staff also weren’t the most pleasant and even got our dates confused when we checked in. Sadly wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We loved this place, the hotel is not far from the pier, we actually walked with children and managed it even in the heat, literally about 5-10 minutes, just turn right out of the pier and walk straight to the end of the road, its tucked away right at the end, fabulous spot. The room we had was amazing, big comfy bed for us, bunk bed for the kids, raised seated area, huge balcony and great bathroom, fridge, tv with cable channels, water, tea coffee provided, hairdryer, towels and room kept clean daily. The pool was a great size, you get towels from reception. The staff are all lovely and on hand to help with anything you need, we had breakfast included which was really good, continental selection, food to order (you can choose 2 items off a menu) and good tea/coffee machine and they have proper big mugs! we ate at the restaurant for lunch and once for dinner too and both times the food was lovely and really good value for money. If we ever return to Koh Tao this is definitely where we will stay again, highly recommend.

What I liked: very comfortable Bed, nice View from the Balcony, quiet Place, relaxed, but small Pool, Breakfast was ok (apart from the Fruit Juices). What you should know: The Seaview Bungalows are located on a steep Hillside, so it´s quite sweatening to walk up there What I did not like: Wifi in my Bungalow (#701) was very weak and very slow so I had to use my SIM card (however other Guests didn´t have that Problem in their Bungalow, Bathroom without a Mirrow, makes shaving a tough Job. Some Guest will probably not like that the Toilet is in a Glasbox. The so-called Fruit Juices for Breakfast were really disgusting (Sugar and some chemical Stuff). Although the Resort was pretty empty, a late check-out at 2pm was not possible (they offered only 1pm)

I had an excellent stay at Woodlawn Lawn Villas, it was just as advertised and more. Friendly and helpful staff. The resort is in a good location within a short walk to local shops and beach, or scooter ride to the pier and alternative beaches. Koh Tao is only a small island so anywhere is only a short scooter ride away. Wood Lawn Villas rent scooter for 200 bhat which is very reasonable. I would highly recommend 😎

I requested a transfer from the pier to the hotel at the hotel. One way meet for free. There are guys on the pier with signs (name of the hotel). Pay 20 baht entrance to Koh Tao and you will be taken to the reception. I was greeted by friendly staff, they gave me the key to the room, they explained everything. We took a regular room with breakfast included. There are no shops nearby, so either take it with you, if possible, or eat at a restaurant (normal prices), or you can order a transfer of 150 baht per person one way to Sayri, there are shops there. The room is nice, clean, kettle, fridge. Breakfast is not a buffet, to choose from. Portions are good. We also dined at the restaurant, they cook and bring quickly. The staff is very attentive, always smiling. They bring everything quickly, if you need something, ask and help in everything. Thank you very much for such hospitality! We swam with masks, it was very beautiful, the sunset was right from the shore and there were a lot of fish. We saw small sharks swimming by. In the morning there was a low tide, you can enter the water on the left near the stones or on the right, also near the stones. A lot of emotions! Return transfer to the pier, 100 baht per person. The roads are very steep but the views are beautiful. We walked from the hotel to the other side of the island. Ascents, descents are steep, hard, but interesting. On the way back, we met 3 snakes in a small area. In the end, I want to say that I liked everything in the hotel, one delight!

The Paradise Koh Tao Resort I was saying to my daughter how, for me, a 5 star hotel is not just about the quality of the room or building or the food or even the staff. It’s about the overall experience. Value for money, comfort, fun. We were met at the pier with our cases carried for us to a songthaews. We were met at the grand hotel by Koko who explained that there was a power cut. No electricity but he was smiling and so sincere it was not a problem for us. We were walked to our room by Koko and a colleague. They carried our cases. The room was just being finished with cleaning and we went into the massive room with a double and single bed. No AC because of power cut. It was funny with Koko explaining to us how it worked without being able to show us. My daughter and I then went to the pool which was absolutely amazing. We had the whole pool to ourselves for the afternoon. An elderly Thai couple came and we took some pictures for them. Then a German (or South African) couple. The pool and area was big enough that we weren’t in each others way. Able to relax, peace and have fun. We then ordered some ice cream and when the electricity came on we then ordered lunch; an omelette, a coconut chicken soup and red curry. It was absolutely delicious! (About 600BAHT). My daughter then showered and I had a bath on the balcony! Yes, a bath on the balcony, Bubbles bowing down the street. it was amazing! We then went down to the lobby and were driven free of charge into Koh Tao. We had a wonderful time in Koh Tao which is really alive again since covid. We then paid 500B for a cab back. We slept in the beautiful air conditioned room. The following morning we had breakfast (250B each) and were served again by Su (who was always helpful and smiling). There were other staff members (Myanmar) we didn’t get their names but thank you to them as well. Everyone was smiling, friendly, trying their best and running around for us. We then went on a snorkelling tour and when we came back went to our room which had been spotlessly cleaned with fresh towels etc. We then showered and went for dinner inside the restaurant because it was raining outside. For dinner we had Ka Pow (prawns/basil). Red Curry. Sweet and Sour Pork, coconut chicken soup (again). 4 drinks. It cost 870 Baht. The food at this place was probably the best of our entire trip. Unbelievably tasty I wanted to thank the chef. We then went and played a game of pool in the bar and then went back to the room and fell instantly asleep. The following morning a songthaews had been arranged for 8am to take us to the pier. The end! So, the night before we are at Suranthiya Koh Phangan and they are very similar. Only Suranthiya is about £350 per night and this place was about £40. I think in the 1990’s/2000’s this was Koh Tao’s Suranthiya. We didn't stay there but did pay to use the pool and had dinner in the restaurant. The location is stunning with an amazing view across the bay, where you can see turtles from the pool if you are lucky! You pay 500 Baht to use the pool and are provide with a towel. This (the 500 Baht) is offset against your bar bill. We also ate in the restaurant - an amazing location with great views of the sunset, wonderful food and top service. I'd love to stay there one day. It is a little off the beaten track but as a result is very peaceful.

A couple’s wife’s shop, great experience, super cost-effective, the hotel is located in Shark Bay, the sea view is first-rate, you can go snorkeling directly, I heard from the boss that sharks will come here every sunrise and sunset, so it’s called Shark Bay. The room is a very down-to-earth single-family chalet, very quiet and private. The boss and the wife are very nice. After consulting a lot of questions, they solved them one by one. They picked us up to the dock for free, provided snorkeling equipment, and helped us arrange a great trip. , I personally took my family around the island, and received very caring care during my stay. I like the simplicity of Koh Tao more than the noise of Samui. If you have the opportunity to come to Koh Tao, you must stay here again. I strongly recommend it!

The scenery is super beautiful. If you open the window, you can see the blue sea. Even the shit is smooth. The scenery is so good that the room facilities are okay. The location is too far away. It is suitable for traveling together. He is an independent villa small enough to live for two people and large enough for ten people to see how you choose the room type. There is a free car transfer to the pier and a private snorkeling area. There is no free for such expensive hotels. Breakfast makes me speechless, everything else is fine, I should go again next time

The view is really nice. There were a lot of reviews about bugs, so I brought cockroach repellent and a home mat, but luckily I didn't see the cockroaches, and it was pretty clean and nice! The beach in the back is really really good for snorkeling! The food at Uncle Restaurant in front is also very delicious overall! If you like french fries, be sure to try french fries. Really crispy in the world!!! But the service is a bit vague. At 1:30, there was a pick-up bus from the ferry side, so I waited, but he didn't come, I called, but it kept saying it was the wrong number (the number found on Trip.cup and Naver search) and the ferry attendant waited at 2 o'clock but waited to be able to get on at 2:10. They said that when they came at 2:30, they said it was going to depart at 3 o'clock.. I got on the bus right after the protest, but waited for an hour. For reference, here, a 5-minute walk costs 200 baht and a 10-minute drive costs 400 baht. Also, when I rented snorkeling equipment, the info said it was $100, but the info said it was $1000, so the info said it was $100. Then they told me to pay 200 dollars for two people, but later I found out that if it's 1000 dollars, it's a deposit and 100 dollars is just a loan. (No refunds + no equipment purchases) I took this place on purpose because it was free to rent. It was a bit disappointing that the information was not properly provided and the time was not kept well, but the view is so good that if I go again next time, I want to stay at this hotel. I stayed for 2 nights, but on the last day, the air conditioner broke down, so I couldn't fix it for a long time, so I had to move to the next room.
