Hotels Near Masjid Lama Permatang Badak in Kuantan

The room itself was ok, it was clean albeit a little bit small, and a little spot here and there but nothing to be worried about. everything was enough. Towels are provided, soap and shampoo also even though they are small, just enough for taking bath 2 to 3 times. If it is not enough, can request for it. There is an iron room. There is also a parking lot at the basement. I think maybe I should give 4 stars out of 5.

I was assigned a room at 4th floor. Since its at lower level of its 15 storey, I requested a room facing not facing the noisy main street. Good choice: view of a football filed, a mosque and part of the city. The room: The Hotel management probably believe that 1980s heyday decor is a selling point. Save for the flat screen telly, the rest still preserves its 80s setting: louvred wardrobe, bedside cabinet central console with rocker switches, blanket on top of sheets (not quilt), tiled (not marbled) bathroom floor, queen (not king) bed. They try to keep the cleanliness but the permanent stains on chairs, moulds around aircond vent, peeling furniture paint, mildew on bathroom wall are beyond the housekeeping department’s routine; the whole place needs serious makeover.

Location is very strategic. Right on Jalan Besar where all the nice cafe is. (Kula Cake, Kuantan Pickers, Tjantek, Kopi & Teh, Akar Kopi, Lena Cafe, Sup Ayam Kampung) to name a few. River Esplanade is just right behind the hotel. Our room is facing the river, upon request. To my suprise for the price, the hotel is very clean. Tv has many channel including sport. A mini fridge & sejadah. I bet the hotel is recently refurbish as it has a nice new paint coating & flooring. And so does the bathroom. They even offer connecting room, which is good if you are travelling in group & to my suprise they have lift. Parking is easy & plenty, but by the counsil. So we paid around RM4.50 daily or RM0.65 per hour. Overall, if you are in Kuantan for Jalan Jalan Cari Makan. I truly recommend this hotel.

Our usual place to stay when visited Kuantan. The room is clean. The location is the best part. Walking distance to art street, kula cakes, and menara Kuantan. The breakfast is ok. The only problems we encounter this time is the parking is always full. Maybe because there are events from 2 organisations during my stay.

I felt reassured knowing that stringent hygiene protocols were in place throughout the property. Overall, my experience at Grand Darul Makmur Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the impeccable service to the comfortable accommodations and excellent dining options, every aspect of my stay exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kuantan, and I look forward to returning in the future.

The hotel is ambient with beautiful scenery. Easy access to beach and Ana Ikan Bakar. My kid and I are very happy to swim at the provided swimming pool. Large and safe. Overall is the best.

The hotel's facilities, including the pool and fitness center, were well-maintained and provided a great way to unwind. I spent 3 days 2 nights here with my family for vacation. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality that made us feel right at home. The process, from unloading our luggage to checking in at the reception, was smooth and efficient. The porter and reception staff were polite and beaming with smiles. We stayed in a studio room, as we needed more space for our active child to move around. The room was in tip top condition—spacious, newly renovated with chic design, and maintained at the highest level of cleanliness. I would say, what you see on Trip is exactly what you get! I want to give special recognition to the Swiss Care team, especially a sweet and polite lady named Sihma (Swiss Care #1), who promptly and efficiently responded to all of our calls. She went the extra mile to ensure all our reasonable requests were met. The swimming pool attendants were diligent in their duties, ensuring the safety of all swimmers. Syed Lukman is one of them. The breakfast provided was consistently replenished to accommodate all diners. I especially enjoyed the nasi lemak on the second day—the meat was tender, perfectly spiced, and juicy. Kudos to the chefs and café staff for their excellent skills! I also noticed that a few middle-aged Malaysian aunties were employed as part-time workers in the café during the busy weekend. Despite their age, they worked efficiently and professionally. I think this is a commendable practice, providing job opportunities while boosting the local economy. The lobby and main facilities were a bit run-down, but I didn’t mind since they are currently undergoing upgrades, which are expected to be completed by next year. I’m excited to return when the renovations are finished!

The building as a whole is quite run down but this THM unit is properly maintained. Owner is good. Twin beds are placed in the room with attached toilet. Should be the other way around. Refundable Deposit - MYR300. Pool very crowded over the weekend

Just had a fantastic stay at Adena Beach Resort in Kuantan! 🌴 The resort offers a perfect blend of relaxation and luxury with its beautiful beachfront location. The rooms were spacious, clean, and offered stunning views of the South China Sea. 🏖️ The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure our stay was comfortable. The highlight was definitely the direct access to the beach, where we enjoyed long walks and serene sunsets. Great for a weekend getaway or a longer vacation if you’re looking to unwind by the sea.
