1. Cleanliness It was much cleaner than I expected. It was nice that there was no smell in the bathroom and the exhaust fan worked well. There was a little dust accumulated in the corner of the window frame and the bathroom, but it wasn't bothersome. There was a lot of dust in the dryer, but it was okay because the other facilities and services were so good. 2. Location It felt a bit eerie for a woman to walk around at night. However, I think it would be okay for several people, and it was nice that the accommodation was a quick 5-minute walk from the subway/bus station. 3. Services/Facilities The staff in the lobby are very friendly. There was a person with really pretty dimples. I was very grateful that they very kindly informed me about using hot water. It was nice that the staff at the bar also greeted me brightly. There were 5 types of breakfast, but most of them were vegan and there was only 1 type of rice (vegan), which was disappointing, but the bread was delicious so it was okay. I didn't use it, but you could play board games in the lobby and keep your suitcase safe by hanging it on a hook like a bicycle lock. It seems like humidifiers and pillows are placed on each floor of the hotel so you can bring them if you need more. Our room was dry so we used a humidifier and it was great. The bedding was soft, so I was able to sleep comfortably, just like I normally do in bed. There is a vending machine right next to the building, and there are many convenience stores just one block away. The downside is that the room is not soundproofed well. I couldn't hear anyone walking or talking in the next room, but I could hear a loud noise when the toilet was flushed in the bathroom. When I slept right under the window, I could feel the chill on the wall near the window, so it was a little cold. Also, the 4-person room is a bit narrow, so if you want to open the suitcase, do you need a topper? bedding? I had to put everything aside and open it. Although there are some shortcomings, overall it was better than the photos and reviews I saw when making a reservation, and I especially liked the very friendly service. I visited with my friends on a graduation trip, and I want to visit again the next time I come to Kyoto!

Very Good

The service is very good, the meals are fast and delicious, there is a water dispenser on the first floor with free tea bags and wine, and the luggage storage area is very complete. But the trip said there was a clothes dryer, but when I went there there were no washing machines, dehydrators, or clothes dryers. Although there was a laundry nearby, it was a bit expensive, but everything else was excellent.

5 minutes walk to the metro, 20-30 to the Giom area, the rooms are small, the sink is located separately from the toilet in the room's hall, inconvenient. The windows are closed and opaque, uncomfortable. The room is clean, garbage was removed every day. The hotel has a bar, it is comfortable to sit in the evening. I didn’t like the breakfast - there is no buffet, A very good option for your money. I recommend

Everything is great, the room is clean and tidy, the bathroom is separated from wet and dry and large, the breakfast has many choices and is very delicious, the staff is polite and speaks good English. Have the opportunity to participate in Japanese cultural experience activities such as tea ceremony and wagashi making. The experience is great, with free hot tea, water, coffee, and free sake in the lobby. It is a four-minute walk from Shijo Station. There is a convenience store near the hotel, which is really great value!

Except for the fact that the air conditioner in the room cannot be adjusted by oneself, everything else is pretty good.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a traditional Japanese room. The cost was around 16000 yen per night including breakfast. Location isn’t bad, there is a short walk to the Metro station. There are some bars and restaurants nearby but the main tourist area and Nishiki market is maybe 10-15 minute walk. One night it was raining so we took an Uber for 1500 yen. The room was large and had very clean. The traditional bed was surprisingly comfy. Bathroom had great shower and again spotless. There is a fridge in the room but no kettle. Free coffee is available downstairs but it wasn’t great. There are no laundry facilities at this hotel. Breakfast was 10/10, well nice and choice of 6 dishes. There is a hotel bar which offers free Sake to guests. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Warm and welcoming hotel. The entrance has something of a hostel vibe, with travellers encouraged to socialise and activities to facilitate this. There is also free sake and very cheap (500Y) cocktails. There is free coffee and a good breakfast spread in the mornings The rooms are small as is typical of Japan, but ours had a loft which was useful to store baggage. Of note there is no washing machine in the Hotel and the nearest laundromat charges 800Y per load

**Imu Hotel Kyoto: Mixed Experience in the Heart of Kyoto** My recent stay at **Imu Hotel Kyoto** left me with a mixed bag of impressions. While the hotel offered certain positive aspects, there were a couple of notable drawbacks that ultimately made me hesitant about returning. Let's start with the positives. The hotel's location is undoubtedly one of its strongest attributes. Situated conveniently in the heart of Kyoto, it provided easy access to popular attractions and public transportation, making exploring the city a breeze. This was a significant advantage for maximizing my time in this culturally rich destination. Another commendable aspect was the hotel's commitment to cleanliness. The premises were well-maintained and the rooms were kept tidy throughout my stay. The attention to detail in terms of cleanliness contributed to a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. However, it's important to address the downsides of my experience. The room size at **Imu Hotel Kyoto** was incredibly small, to the point of feeling cramped. While compact rooms are not uncommon in Japanese hotels, the limited space in this case was noticeably restrictive. It was a challenge to move around freely and store luggage comfortably, which impacted the overall comfort of my stay. Moreover, the breakfast arrangement was somewhat disappointing. Unlike the typical buffet-style breakfasts offered by many hotels, **Imu Hotel Kyoto** opted for a non-buffet setup. While this might be a preference for some, I found the lack of variety and options to be underwhelming. The limited breakfast choices did not align with my expectations for a satisfying morning meal. In conclusion, **Imu Hotel Kyoto** is a nice establishment with its fair share of positives. The central location and dedication to cleanliness are indeed noteworthy. However, the small room size and the breakfast setup left much to be desired. While my stay was not without its merits, the overall experience didn't meet my expectations to the extent that I would consider returning in the future. For travelers seeking a more spacious room and a more comprehensive breakfast experience, it might be worth exploring other options in Kyoto.

Unlivable triple room. Claustrophobic, unlivable for two adults and an 11 year old child (but also for just 2 adults). I understand that in Japan the standard is for small rooms but this was truly ridiculous. Sink outside the shower/toilet area, if one adult happens to use the sink, another cannot fit through as the space available was so narrow. The hotel is very clean and in an excellent location, a 25 minute walk from Kyoto station. Good breakfast although not very varied. Friendly staff as in the rest of Japan.

Ci tornerei.
