The hotel is very clean and is the wisest choice for a trip to Tokyo. The bathroom is small but wet and dry partitions, the full body massage shower is very comfortable, can relieve the fatigue of a day of storms. The front desk was very friendly and thoughtful, and the room was cleaned every day. This was my first trip to Kyoto and there are many options for hotels. I was having trouble deciding exactly where but Good Nature turned out to be an excellent choice because: 1. It's right downtown - a few minutes walk to two subway stops - you'll use the subway to get to good attractions like Inari, Nara, Kiyomizu 2. you are also within walking distance to Pontocho, Gion, Nishiki markets 3. There were 3 of us so we had 3 individual beds - in a standard room and despite this being 28m2 the layout of the room is very good. Of course, if you want the deluxe room it's much bigger but it will cost a lot more 4. Managed to score a trip.com 36% discount (for 5 nights) which was a no-brainer (we just got the room only) - pay for buffet breakfast if you must (plenty of Starbucks around if that's your thing) - I did book the first night separately direct through the hotel website though as the trip.com offer didn't extend for 6 nights 5. The room was very clean, the staff were very friendly and explained everything. 6. Buffet breakfast was a good selection of Western and Asian choices. The restaurant was very clean. The prosciutto was amazing!

Everything was fine until the end. In comparison to other hotels I stayed at throughout my trip, this one is cleaner and more spacious. It's close to Tokyo Station, so it's easy to get to other areas, even if it took me quite a while to figure out their operation and routes. The hotel will be cleaned one time every three days. So, generally, it will not be cleaned throughout your stay. However, you can request that they change the towels every day. The check-in and check-out processes were straightforward, however the machine did not accept my Visa card - this is the only site in Japan that did. The hotel also helped you store your belongings before and after check-in/out. However, I was discriminated against by one of the hotel's employees when sending the luggage after checkout. Before me, he stayed near the check-in/checkout machine, assisting a Japanese couple with the checkout procedures and handling the bags. So I waited, thinking he also approached me to assist. However, after assisting the couples, he did not approach me and came back to the counter. Then I beckoned him to his assistance. Instead, he hailed me with his fingertips to come over his counter, rather say anything like “Please come over the counter to do the procedure”. It shocked me. Furthermore, the way he handled my luggage request was really unpleasant. When I asked for his name because I didn't see it on his tag, he became more agitated. So that is why I requested him to write his name on the receipt card. How is it possible for him to treat people so differently? Should Japanese people be treated more respectfully under the hotel's policy? After my interaction with him, all of my positive feelings about the hotel vanished.

The good place is Kyoto with bad hotel conditions, but anyway the room is large! Thing. The room was a double bed, but there is enough space to fit another bed, and you can spread your suitcase and organize your luggage. In this class of inn, there are many hotels that have no space other than beds, and it is a valuable size in this time of year. It is a seven-story building, and there is a building next to the fourth floor on the south side, regardless of the north side, so the windows are very oppressive. If you don't just sleep, the upper floors are better. There is no problem with cleanliness and equipment. The location is subtle. It is close to the Kamogawa Takase River and is suitable for walking in the river. Walking distance to Shijo Kawaramachi. But it's not ”immediate” on foot. Will you revisit? The most catchy thing is transportation. There are many bus stops near Kyoto Station, but the routes are in the directions of Kawaramachi, Gion, Pontocho, and Shimizu, so it's very crowded anyway. A taxi is required for a big cherry blossom. It's really far to walk. It took 1h5min, including the waiting time for the return bus, to leave my luggage at the inn and make a round trip from Kyoto Station to pick up this in the evening. The return bus was so crowded that I often put it on. After all, it is safer along the subway and Hankyu lines. There is no price, no good or no bad. Under this condition, it is not expensive considering the market price in Kyoto, but there is no sense of profit.

Location is great. Walking distance to places we visited as well as the Subways and bus stops. Room is clean and fontdesk personnel were helpful. Can leave luggages after checkout time. They have two coin operated laundry machines that you can use.

However, it's worth mentioning that the onsen's operating hours are relatively limited, closing at 11 pm nightly, with only two hair dryers available. Upon entering the room, I was pleasantly surprised by its spaciousness—ample enough to accommodate three luggage pieces comfortably. The highlight, undoubtedly, was the bathtub affording breathtaking views of the hotel's surroundings, perfect for soaking in the beauty of sunrise or sunset. Complete with access to YouTube and Netflix, the room provided ample entertainment options. For a delightful treat, indulge in soft-serve ice cream from the cafe adjacent to the hotel—an ideal conclusion to a day of exploration. The bed exuded comfort, while the addition of a sofa near the entrance provided a convenient spot to unwind without soiling the bedding with outdoor attire. Overall, while Ala Hotel Kyoto may lack certain amenities, its spacious accommodations, strategic location, and reasonable pricing make it a standout choice for travelers seeking tranquility and convenience in equal measure.

I got this property information from XiaoHongShu. Very impressive with the hot spring, sunset and sunrise activities. So we book and stay! We checked in around 3.30pm and go for the evening cocktail with the gorgeous views. Dinner and then enjoy ours night spring. And sunrise spring. Honestly this is the best ever experience. Will come back again!

Easy check-in and spacious room. The entrance is hidden in a side street. There offer omplimentary bottled water and universal travel adapters were available at reception. Conveniently located above a SevenEleven as well as close to a Subway Station, Nishiki Market and a big road full of shops.
