I recently stayed at this hotel and had a great time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was nice and had a balcony, which was perfect for relaxing. The eating area was big, and the menu had lots of good options. The best part was the view from my room in the morning—it was amazing and way better than I expected. The hotel is also in a good location, just a 30-minute walk from the churches, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its friendly service, nice rooms, and fantastic views.

Это однозначно лучшее место в городе. Но! За 2 ночи так и не было электричества (во всем городе). Включали генератор с 19:30 до 22:00 примерно. И самый большой минус - количество комаров, от которых не спасает даже москитная сетка, это ужас. Сам отель красивый, хороший ресторан (если говорить об Эфиопии), территория ухоженная, персонал тоже отличный. Если уж ехать туда, то в это место, лучше вряд ли найдете…

The location of Soro Lodge is beautiful. Serenity at its finest! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was super hospitable and kind which matched the energy of the onsite staff. The rooms were always clean and the food and coffee (of course!) was amazing at the lodge restaurant. I wish them nothing but blessings and continued success.

Possible conflict area
Amazing place with great people. We were surprised by the beauty of the place. View of the valley of losing your breath. Great breakfast, well served, tasty and with good service. Just make sure the region has internet and electric light. We stayed two nights and the city had the electricity and internet cut off due to a civil conflict in the region. The hotel has a generator to heat bath water and recharge cell phones and electronic equipment. It's a shame because the region deserves to be visited.

This accommodation was booked as part of my three days in Lalibela - it indeed is as wonderful and good as all the reviews here have mentioned. Remembering this area is not modern or advanced, there will be be limitations like unstable wifi but this was due to the current governmental issues and not a hotel specific issue. Check in and check out - quick, efficient and able to pay with credit card. David is knowledgeable and also helpful when asked. Even if there is only one Restaurant - the selection is ample without getting bored. The taste is good - my guess is that the cooks must be well experienced now with the likings of many European guests who stay here. Rooms do not have AC - given the high altitude, I think it is assumed it will always be cool enough. I didn’t know until I stayed - asked for a fan for some ventilation and it helped alot. Sharing some pics of the stay here - it’s peaceful and a wonderful way to wind down. Beautiful sunsets with nice wine. Thanks to all the staff - always checking in with a smile and asking if guests like myself was ok and comfortable.
