Fairfield by Marriott Lijiang Ancient Town Reviews

Daily safety issue that the taxi will not enter into the hotel, park at roadside along with busy motorbikes lane. It was very dangerous to pick up hotel guests along the roadside and nearly knockdown by motorcycles. Hotel management must review this safety issue. Room with poor sound proof and sleep were disrupted due to construction works started in early hrs at 7am. The toilet in the room has no door and can’t use the sink to wash face at the same time. Poor buffet breakfast spread with same foods everyday. Food replenishment and clearing tables were slow. Wheelchair toilet at ground floor has no door lock where anyone can just open the door. Very far away from 丽江古城, need to 打车。 Will not book this hotel again.

The room was comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised with a mountain view, even though it wasn’t advertised.The only downside is that there is no door for the WC area, and it lacks ventilation. It can become quite unpleasant if someone is using it. We had to remind each other to use the lobby restroom for bowel movements. The reception staff were incredibly helpful! They extended a late check-out, knowing we had to catch an evening train to Kunming. Due to our group size, we needed two vehicles, and the staff helped us book a maxi cab using their personal account (big vehicles can only be booked by locals). As we do not have a local number, they even let us use their phone number to register for food delivery. Their service truly exceeded our expectations!

The hotel is very new and well located close to the ancient town aka guchen. The rooms are well appointed but the open concept room may not suit everyone. A pleasant surprise was a fruit platter although the fruits were not something I preferred. The checkin process was not too expeditious as I would have expected. Dining options were relatively limited. Was alloted a room on level 3 facing the roof top garden which it's downside as noice from guest using the garden may at times be annoying. Overall a good experience.

Hotel is new and quite well maintained. Staff is very helpful and friendly especially Iris whom helped me for my search for a tourist mobile plan

As a loyal fan of Marriott, I chose Marriott's Fairfield Inn without thinking during this trip to Lijiang. The hotel is very easy to find, and the lobby is spacious and bright. We arrived at the hotel at night. Iris at the front desk warmly received us and checked us in. She also provided a small map and recommendations of the surrounding area. Another lady on duty on the same day also helped to deliver the luggage to the room👍 As soon as I walked into the room, the spaciousness and cleanliness were exactly what I expected. The bed was comfortable and the furniture was modern and practical. Breakfast is a highlight, with a rich variety. There are not only common Western breakfasts, but also snacks with Lijiang characteristics. Each dish is carefully made and tastes authentic, allowing me to feel the cultural charm of Lijiang while enjoying the food. Especially those special snacks, which made me have endless aftertaste. In general, this accommodation experience is perfect. The high-quality service of Iris at the front desk, the comfortable environment of the room and the delicious breakfast have all added a lot to my trip to Lijiang. Highly recommended to friends who plan to travel to Lijiang, this is definitely a warm station on your journey!

I had enough of B&Bs during my trip to Lijiang, so I decided to try a hotel. This is a sub-brand of a big international hotel. Overall, it’s quite satisfactory. I don’t know if it’s because it’s newly opened, but in many aspects it’s not as good as the domestic chain brands. The price is not competitive, so I didn’t give it a full score. I hope it will continue to work hard...

There are delicious food and shopping places around, which makes travel convenient. The hotel breakfast is quite satisfactory, the environment is clean and sanitary, the breakfast variety is rich, combining Chinese and Western, and the service is also very enthusiastic. I was surprised by the cleanliness of the guest room. The waitress who cleans the room every day is very careful. Not only the bed is meticulously made, but also the corners of the room are spotlessly clean, and the hot water supply is stable. Here, my family and I spent an unforgettable holiday and felt every detail of the hotel's attentive service. I checked in at the hotel in the afternoon. The front desk girl provided very good service and the check-in and check-out procedures were very fast. If there were any problems during check-in, the front desk girl could solve them in time. In addition, the hotel's facilities and equipment are very new, the guest rooms are fully decorated and equipped, and the style is also quite unique, integrating modern and Naxi elements, which makes people shine. There is actually a sky garden on the third floor of the hotel! The environment of the sky garden is very good, and it is a good place to relax. I am very satisfied with both the hardware facilities and the service quality of this stay, and I plan to stay again when I come back for transit.
