Hotels Near Cemiterio dos Prazeres in Lisbon

We booked a week at the Lisbon Serviced Apartments - Bairro Alto based on positive reviews from previous visitors. The (eight room) four story apartments are located in the old hilly section of the city where steep and narrow sidewalks are the norm and are slippery during rain. The main entrance is via a short alleyway. Access to the outer main door entrance and individual apartments are very 21st century in that there is no reception. The outside door has a cypher lock and guests use a reservation number to get in. Once inside the 'lobby' space there is a kiosk/screen to check in and get an assigned room and cypher code for your room. The kiosk has language selections to help with directions. There also a one-way phone to speak with a person/assistance. The machine scans documents, i.e., passports or European ID cards. It took me ten minutes and the final phase was to take a photo of the QR square displayed to keep track of your room number and access code. There are four floors with two apartments on each floor. There is an elevator and stairs. The rooms are spacious and well outfitted with a mini kitchen, including dishes, cooking ware, dishwasher, clothes washer and refrigerator. The clothes washer is great, we used it and dried clothes on a clothes hangar that was stashed in the closet. There is a comfortable queen size bed with a large flat screen hanging on the opposite wall. A closet has a self-use strong box with directions (in English) to set-up a personalized multi-digit code during your stay. The bathroom is roomy with a shower stall instead of a bath. Plenty of windows, including in the bathroom. The cross street is named Rua Do Poco Dos Negros and is a main line for the local trams that pass through the neighborhood, with a tram stop maybe 100 feet from the apartments. Taxis pass through here as well. Small restaurants are plentiful within a 15-minute parameter. The popular Plaza del Comercio is about a twenty-minute walk or a Three Euro Tram ride away. Aside from steep streets, the area is safe, even a night. The apartments are a clean, good bargain for staying in Lisbon.

I was extremely lucky to have noticed the sign for this amazing property on a late evening walk along the famous Avenida da Liberdade. I went up to ask if there was a single room for my last night in Lisbon two weeks later, before flying home. The two gentleman at the reception even offered to show me a room, and I booked through the hotel website. Best idea I had in a very long time. During my 24-hour stay, I dealt mostly with Bruno, but also occasionally with Victor; both were extremely gracious and helpful, as was the rest of the staff. On top of it all, the rate is, to say the least, very reasonable, and breakfast is included. I have recommended this exceptional property to everyone I know. A real gem.

We got a private room there cause we wanted our own space. Looked decent in the photos. When we arrived the room was quite dirty. Dirt on the walls, toothpaste around the sink and the towels we got had brown stains in it. We did not experience the privateness of our room because the bedroom door has a 2cm gap underneath it so all the stamps on the wooden floor and all the people coming and going (which was alot) along with the maintenace room next door felt like they were in our room. Alot of other smaller things like malfunction noises in the ventilation and very poor quality in the bed. “Breakfast included” was white bread, jam and coffee. BIGGEST PROBLEM is that the bathroom has alot of black mold in it. For example all around the shower and the shower glass and around the sink. After two nights we contacted the staff and told them about all these things listed above and we wanted to move out of that room and go somewhere else. So they told us that I had to send an email which would be forwarded to their supervisor, which I did. I checked upon them multiple times with calls, emails and direct conversation. Their supervisor, who was not there, would contact me which he never did. I am well aware this is not a 5 star accomodation but this is not ok in any accomodation that you pay for. I’ve been all around the world staying in allkinds of accomodations but this was my worst experience. Not only because of the room situation but because of the staffmembers who didnt even try to make things better by for example clean the room, offer us new towels offer us new bedroom. We paid 156€/night there. When the client points out things that are poor and could easily be fixed, just fix it and at least try to make them happy. WOT Lisbon Patio … Do better !

The hostel's name says it all - this hostel is ideally located in the heart of Lisbon within walking distance of most of the major monuments the city has to offer. My girlfriend and I allocated 2 days to Lisbon and 1 to Sintra and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in one of the 8-bed dorms. The rooms and amenities of this hostel exceeded our expectations as our 1st foray into hostel traveling. The staff were extremely kind as well and were helpful in helping us plan an early morning (4 am) transport to the airport. There were a few small details we wish we could change. For one, we had a bit of bad luck in that one of our roommates was sick and spent most of the night coughing relentlessly keeping most members of our room awake. Additionally, despite meeting many friendly faces, the hostel did not feel as openly social as other hostels we stayed our throughout our two week Europe trip

The location of hotel is perfect. Easy to access some touristic spots, also to the transportation. There was some noise from the refrigerator though, i had to plug it out while sleeping. The room was clean, bathroom was a bit small to place my own toiletries, still it was all fine for a short stay.

Wouldn’t stay there again. Booked a stay for 4 days on my birthday week. I have been in Ibis Hotels in Lisbon before, but not in Alfragide. To my disappointment, beds were so small you had to be careful not to fall at night, bathroom seems to be made of plastic and last but not least, there was a hotel refurbishment in process, which means loads of noise early morning, dust, strong smells aaaand our window view close by a white paper. When I address this last one to the reception I was told that it was “to our privacy”. One of the days I tried to open the window to have fresh air, due the strong smell inside the room, and there was no ventilation as there was a paper closing our whole window. Oh and not to mention that cleaning staff touches guests stuff inside the room, so be careful. Luckly our lugagge with valuables was locked. I really don’t mind sharing my candies with anyone, but I feel a bit of attitude to find a box of chocolate half open, and then only the paper of candies on top of the dusty table. If you take, not a problem at all, but at least take the paper with you. Breakfast was good at least. So, in my opinion, not the best place to spend your birthday week and not the best place to stay at all. Will def choose another hotel next time.

Please beware of Hotel DAH in Lisbon...the treatment and experience we endured at this hotel were so deplorable, unaccomodating, and unacceptable. We booked this hotel through ******* for 4 nights in Lisbon. Due to the size of our party, 2 adults and 3 children, this was the only option for our family to be in 1 room at the time. After arriving late to check in due to travel, the hotel was very unflattering as the pictures from Expedia's site as well as the hotel's website depicted a completely different image, a complete misrepresentation. In addition, travel sites indicate laundry facilities in which they did not have, only a pricey service that they contract out. As having never been to Lisbon and not knowing the neighborhoods, we were taken back by all of the graffiti on the adjacent abandoned building. The layout of the hotel is very small and bizarre, with an elevator that could not even fit our family and luggage. We booked the quadruple room in order to accommodate our family; however the hotel management informed us that we only made a reservation for 4, even after showing them proof. The hotel stated that anyone older than 12 is considered an adult, and we are only allowed 4 adults. Our children are 17, 14, 14. We were willing to pay the extra bed charge fee, even though we felt that this should have been handled between ******* and the hotel; however after the way we were treated we stated that we were not going to pay the extra bed fee. The General Manager later informed us after we had checked out, that the night attendant, who checked us in, will have to personally pay for the extra person as he did not request the $ from us at time of check-in. I find this very disturbing and disheartening that management would do this as he was the most pleasant person at the property. From being questioned the first night from staff as to why we were checking out the property, being treated like second class citizens from the night attendant (Sandra?), having our room key deactivated and not telling the truth as to why it was deactivated (was told that these things happen, but Nena (General Manager) admitted it was because we hadn't paid the nominal fee for the extra bed/person), and the overall feeling of being constantly watched, not welcomed, and unsafe, we decided to check out early. Nena, the GM, stated that irregardless of our awful experience, this was a non-refundable booking and will not credit us for the 2 nights we did not stay at Hotel DAH. Even ******* felt for our discomfort and assisted us in other ways that we are extremely grateful for. This experience took up quality family vacation time that we can not get back. Please think twice about staying at this property as this was the worst experience we have encountered in all of our years of travel. Excellent contemporary designed hotel, which was very clean and comfortable. There is an extensive selection of food for breakfast, which is good value. Ideal location for visiting the attractions of Lisbon, due to its close proximity to the Metro. The receptionists were all very helpful, particularly Alexander and Caroline, who are great ambassadors for the hotel.

This is an accommodation we stopped at on the way from Sintra to Lisbon. As it was an existing mansion or castle that was renovated, the building itself was old, but clean and well-maintained, and the rooms were very spacious, which was nice. I tried breakfast as it was included, and although there weren't many items, everything was delicious.

The hotel is very close to the airport. However they do not offer a shuttle. I took Uber there and back to airport which costed me about 5-7 euros. The room is not very big but comfy. The cleanliness can be improved a little bit. The breakfast selection is mostly sweet bakery. There are not many savory options. The staffs are friendly but they don’t speak much. Overall I would stay here again for an overnight layover just for the price.
