It’s close to subway, convenient transportation. It’s like a 8 minute walk to Liverpool Street. There are also bus stops nearby. People are friendly. And the bathroom is clean and nice. I stayed here for one night to visit London. It is a nice place and convenient to go to any tourist attraction. I think it’s like 3/4 stops to go to the British museum and the Big Ben. In a word, a convenient location and good service.

Because I had to take a bus from Liverpool Street Station to Stansted to catch a flight in the early morning, I thought of staying here for a night. The location is great, it's within walking distance to Shore Ditch, and there are quite a few supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The shared washroom and toilet are clean. The room should be frequented by people, so except for the beds that are replaced with new ones, all other parts are not clean. There are too many people in the room, so it's impossible to have a good rest with people coming in and out all the time. The security is good, as they are all girls. Fortunately, I only stayed for half a night, otherwise I would definitely not continue to stay.

Key deposit £2
The location is good, about 10 minutes walk from the subway station
The room is clean
There is no kitchen, no microwave, no water dispenser or kettle, so you can only drink cold water directly from the toilet faucet.
Luggage storage is not allowed after check-out, the information page is incorrectly marked

It's a hostel not a hotel. Don't expect towels but you can hire them from the bar, £10 with £2 back when you return it. For me it didn't work because I booked an 8 bed dorm for a one off celebration but because every occupant needed photo id ( I thought my id and advance payment in full would be enough) many of my friends who naturally don't carry id couldn't take advantage. Of course it's all in the T's and C's but in most hotels ID and advance payment from the lead guest is normally enough. That aside, staff were helpful and the place was pretty clean. Pub is bang average. Can't see me staying here again but if you're 8 close friends who know to all bring photo id it could be a cost effective option.

This is the worst hostel ever. Is inside Flying horse pub no signs of St Christopher hospitality or Inn or whatever. Flying horse full stop. Rooms are narrow 16 square meters for 8 beds. No hangs to hang up your clothes. Showers are tight, lavatory tight, steep staircase. Night Shift receptionist not friendly rather arrogant. Positive point 25% discount on bar food and drinks. Good location near Liverpool street Station.

This is a ******, anti-black establishment. I was looking for something cheap (first mistake) for an impromptu visit to London. I fell for the good rating on Hostelworld (second mistake). They had a rating of 4.something on there which encouraged me and I thought it’d be a novel experience to stay there. I should have checked Trip Advisor which has a certainly more accurate rating of 3.5 and I would never have chosen it with that rating anyway, not even expecting my experience. I got there at about 9:45pm and went to the bar cum reception for the hostel. As I arrived, a man of East Asia origin came right by me and dropped two empty glasses. He was dressed in all black and I thought he was staff. He wasn’t but he was very good-humoured about it and we had a right cackle, right in front of the bar. Then he went to the left side of me and hey presto , one of the staff (who later identified herself as the ‘manager’) promptly attended to him without asking who got there first. I didn’t mind. She served him 3 beers whilst I was standing right next to him in my lime-green jumpsuit. Then she finished serving him, took payment from him, went to the till which was right opposite me, gave him his receipt and walked off to another female colleague dispensing beer, leaving me there. I waited another couple of minutes, thinking that perhaps she needed to supervise the other girl and would come back promptly but she didn’t. I managed to catch her eye and let her know I was there to check in. Then I asked why I’d been ignored. She said ‘she hadn’t seen me’. Gobsmacking. I didn’t realise I’d turned invisible. So I replied that sounded implausible and immediately she claimed I was ‘yelling’. Well, the live band had already started and we were both speaking loudly, and it soon degenerated into myself being labelled aggressive. Yeah of course, that tired trope of the aggressive black woman. Anywhere she refused to check me in which I was thrilled about anyway and I left.

Wouldn’t go back if I got paid too! Came over with a friend from Ireland and with a flight at 6:10am we were guaranteed early check in. We got to the hotel as such and we were told no to early check in despite the proof of guarantee which resulted in us having to spend another £100 for a day hotel to rest up, have showers and get ready for the day ahead. Arrived finally and check in was slow. The stairs were very very very steep and uncomfortable to walk up especially with being on the third floor. Got into the room and the bed sheets were stained with hairs on them. The two mugs in the bathroom looked used and unwashed. The pillows were very thin which resulted in a very bad sleep and two cricked necks due to the discomfort. After being told checkout was 11am the day before that was okay, only for the house keeper to walk into our room at 10:30 and told us we had to leave and waited outside the door for us to leave despite having Half an hour left in the room. We both have bites and out skin feels like it’s crawling after the stay in this room. Wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.

For £148 Double room I expected a clean bathroom. The shower was not clean, the shower head was manky at best (see photos), the toilet seat had to be wiped before it could be used. There was no toilet paper in the holder. Mold in the shower. Something stuck to the wall of the shower (see photo). Unimpressed with the overall cleanliness of the bathroom. The rest of the room was clean. The bed was really comfortable which was a plus. Handy to the pub downstairs and the Liverpool St train station which is the only reason I stayed there. They happily held my bags for a few hours once I checked out which was appreciated. If they clean the bathroom properly then I would not have had any complaints. Have given an average score as the rest of the room was okay.

Lovely experience. So central and staff are super kind and friendly. Amazing amenities. I would definitely stay here again. It’s built on top of the flying horse pub with the reception in the pub. Discounts on food and drink and central connections to everywhere. How does it get any better than that?!
