Hotel Glavovic

Best vacation at a homely hotel The hotel and the host were great! There is a seating area in the lobby bar in the next room, also outside seating. They have air conditioning in the bar and in the rooms, which is great. Within the hotel rooms they have done some recent renovations, main beds are brand new, loved to sleep in them and the beds are huge! Bathroom has also seen some renovations, there is a new mirror and shower cabinet, and the shower provides great water pressure with plenty of hot water. Within the room there is a large fridge and hangers for clothes. We loved the window into the harbour, you can see the beautiful sunset and have a look at the beach. Lopud has the best sandy beaches in the region, most of the mainland has rocky beaches. Now something about the host, Ljubo. He was amazing and great with the kids! He took care of all of our needs. The breakfast was included in our stay and they made the best scrambled eggs along with a fruit bowl for us and pancakes for the kids. On our last morning we had to leave on the first ferry, very early in the morning, and yet the host, his mother and rest of the staff made sure we got a full breakfast. During the evening we had some drinks from the hotel bar and they even made some non-alcoholic cocktails for the kids. Honestly, the hotel and definitely the people made this mini-vacation the best one we have had, so my thanks to Ljubo! The area surrounding the hotel has plenty of shops and restaurants to visit, we definitely found our favourite.

This family run hotel has old world charm with million dollar views. I felt very welcomed on my arrival and was amazed at my balcony room overlooking the water. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was small but that is to be expected. Breakfast is included in the price and is basic but fresh and lovely. They will cook an omelette fresh which was really nice. There is a beach right out the front, plenty of eating options, two supermarkets and small shops to purchase souvenirs, clothes and jewellery. Sunj beach is a must visit but it’s a bit of a trek to the other side of the island. I walked it before it got too hot, it took about 40 minutes. It’s a lovely swimming area with places to eat as well. I took the local taxi back, a golf buggy. They are lined up like a regular taxi rank and will transport you for 3 euros. I loved my stay at Hotel Glavovic with its old world charm, views and chats with the elderly lady/owner at breakfast. If you like five star hotels this is not for you.
