Spring Arona Gran Hotel - Adults Only

After 8 previous visits this was the worst. Up expierence was not up to usual standard ,poor selection of food , popular items ran out very quickly , poor labelling on warm food . Several cut backs in place no taxi transfer as booked , poor toiletries in room, no daily water in room, evening meal in buffet cold and in edible some times, bad attitude of breakfast male server of eggs ,not happy when broken and over cooked eggs were rejected.

Beautiful hotel great location very clean close to beach nearby shops and bars but not noisy poolside is spotless. New towels everyday. Great food buffet and full menu. Entertainment hall with great shows on. Friendly staff . Rooms cleaned every day

This was our 2nd visit to this hotel and we got off to a good start with Vicky in reception when we arrived. She was most helpful and assisted us with our hotel App downloads, plus internet connection and all with a smile. We had booked a side sea view room and got one on the 5th floor which turned out to be the same room we had in November 2023 which again proved to be an excellent choice both for its sea views and afternoon sunshine. Very comfortable room with excellent large walk in shower room, good facilities and plenty of cupboard space for a 16 night holiday. Three lifts close by and virtually no waiting throughout our stay. Top this off with high standard very pleasant cleaners just improved our holiday. We explored the hotel again on our first afternoon and everything appeared to be still good especially the pool areas, gym and bar areas. We dined in the buffet restaurant throughout our stay, which at times was very busy with guests and some of the tables were very close for us but we managed to find a quieter area which we used through out our holiday, enjoying the excellent service of Juarno and his assistant Ali. The food on offer was of a good standard with plenty of choice and the standard of staff in the restaurant was also very high. The selection and quality of food prepared and offered both at breakfast and evening was brilliant and reading some of the reviews posted I am not sure what hotel these guests were staying in, unless of course they prefer dining in Fast Food restaurants. The cooking stations always offered a selection of both meat & fish and so adding this to the main buffet choices it gave plenty of options. There was a wide choice on offer at Breakfast which appeared to suit most guests judging by the numbers who had been returning for years. Gala evenings on Wednesdays were superb with special entertainment music in the dining room. I was surprised however again this year by the number of guests who actually took food out of the restaurant at breakfast time, often using zipper bags and cool bags plus even vacuum flasks to smuggle it out in and the lengths they went to. The removal of bananas for instance often meant these could at times be few in number for those choosing to dine a bit later. The pools proved to be first class and having fresh pool towels available throughout the day was important for some guests. The evening entertainment for a majority of our stay was good too, especially the evening pianists who performed every night between 6pm and 8pm which was good to listen & relax to with a pre dinner Cava before dining. The outstanding female violinist on the Wednesday Gala nights was a real treat too. I used the well equipped gym almost every early evening but found the absence of any supervision this year a bit irritating as Gloria last year was most helpful in dealing with some guests who had no idea how to use the equipment but still did, plus guests who failed to adhere to the gym notice about w

Our 5th visit but sadly it may be our last. The UP terrace is the main reason we stay at the Arona Gran - amazing views and a lovely quiet spacious terrace, with plenty of sun loungers. However service in the main hotel was poor. We had a Terrible check in experience with a long wait and unhelpful disinterested staff. There were often long queues at reception . This was very disappointing. I got trapped in our bathroom due to a faulty door closure one evening- i had to be broken out by maintenance which was a somewhat traumatic experience - took about 30 mins for them to break me out! Left a messy bathroom and damaged door which wasn’t attended to until the following daily housekeeper visit. The faulty barrel in the door was replaced the following day by maintenance, but there was no follow up by customer service to check how we were and if everything was ok after the incident. It is a beautiful hotel but sadly overall service was disappointing.

Fabulous hotel. Spotlessly clean. Brilliant food with every choice imaginable! Good staff. Special shout out to Stephanie in Reception. Thankyou for your help and smiles. 😊 Couldn’t fault the Arona Grand. Would definitely recommended it.

The hotel is great for quiet holiday. No music by the pool, only during aqua aerobics. Great entertainment with Jess, darts, table tennis, shuffle board & bingo. Food is great when it comes to allrlergy's, everything is clearly marked and they do provide GF bread, muffins and desert. Only minus is the price of going to the rooftop. It's €90 per day per person on top of the room price, which is a lot! It does include drinks, but as I don't drink alcohol it's not a great deal.
