This is the worst public house I have ever visited, difficult to believe it is still open. It smells horrible , it is freezing ,and it is dirty, should be shut down. Please do not go there to stay or eat .The staff appear unkempt and rude . Such a shame because as the only pub in the village it does negatively impact on the character of the village.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Didn't get to sleep til late as there was a private function but this isn't anybody's fault we were staying in a pub and expected noise. The room was lovely, very nice coffee! The staff were friendly and polite.
No real parking available but we managed to find a space fairly close by.
The kids loved the room and we would definitely stay again.

Disappointing
But of a strange stay, room didn't appear to be ready even though we arrived well after four o'clock, not clear where we should park, and evening food was average and to top it off there was live entertainment on until gone eleven o'clock.
On the positive the breakfast was very good.

Dissapointed
Only booked this hotel the night before as our previous hotel had closed down. We tried 2 other hotels for evening meals which were far superior to the engine Inn.
The best part of our stay was the full continental breakfast.

Good place to stay
Late booking but all available and friendly, helpful reception when we arrived. Lovely rooms, clean and warm. Lovely breakfast too

Amazing place to stay
Absolutely lovely place to stay. Made to feel so welcome and at home from the second we got there. Jonathon and the staff couldnt do more to help. Gorgeous room, very spacious and amazing atmosphere. Will definitely be booking to stay here again in the future

A great choice
The Engine Room is a great English pub. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The drinks were great, the locals friendly and talkative. The room was very comfortable. They even had a good entertainer. It was the English pub experience you would want to have.it was great value.
