Foxhills Club & Resort

I had my 75th Birthday Party last weekend with family and friends. The experience of the hotel, bedrooms, food and drinks was amazing and I was treated like royalty. The Food and Beverage Manager and his team, as Tina Turner sings ‘Simply the best’. We stayed an extra night and the staff made it a wonderful weekend. This is my second event at Foxhills and will certainly return in the future. Will highly recommend the venue. Bob and Pam

In all fairness I would rate Foxhills about a 4.4 - but that option was not available :). The pros were that the hotel's location, grounds, and facilities were excellent. It has a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, golf (obviously), a kids center, and tennis courts for use by the hotel guests. The breakfast provided in the main house was excellent. Cons were that the room was just OK (even after I was given a free upgrade to write this review - LOL). Adequate, but certainly not luxurious - I had to take a cold shower in the morning because the hot water ran out - only in the UK! This would be unheard of in the USA - where I now live! Overall this would be a fantastic place for a family to take a short break as there are lots of activities for all ages. I would consider staying here again as an overnight resting place for our family after flying into or out of Heathrow from California.

I am a little dismayed to be writing this review however I must bring this to potential attendees attention. I had a table for 2 booked yesterday afternoon for afternoon tea to which, when asked if we wanted to upgrade to the champagne afternoon tea, we accepted. My first querm is the fact that in my coronation chicken wrap, 50% of the chicken was actually cartilage but I didn’t want to complain or make a fuss about it so granted, at the time i did not say anything about it. When it came to the bill, we were charged £162 for 2X champagne afternoon teas, which we paid, however, when i looked today on the website it clearly states a flat fee of £44pp. Instead we were charged by the glass with VAT added on top per glass along with £18 gratuity. Again we paid it and didn’t say anything. I am more than happy to pay for gratuity but it is completely unjustified for my reasons above. It has now been nearly a month and all i have had is a pointless email from the ‘manager’ Reynold Rodrigues who has subsequently ignored 3 follow up emails asking for an explanation as to why they are falsely advertising such prices. Avoid unless you want to be scammed and ignored! :)

Another amazing sleepover at Foxhills. Thank you Renato and all the staff on reception, in 19 and at the spa. We played tennis, went in the spa - swam in both the indoor pool and the outdoor plunge pool, steam room, sauna, followed by dinner in 19 and cocktails in the Manor. The burgers were the best I've had there, esp lovely with the halloumi. Breakfast was lovely - so much choice and very attentive staff. Our room was so clean and comfortable. Can't wait for our next visit

We decided to stay at the Foxhills quite last minute for a little spa get away and we booked directly with the hotel. Luckily they had availability for us and booking was plain sailing. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the reception team who helped us check in and directed us to our room. The room itself was beautiful and cosy however we enquired about a potential upgrade (nearer to the heated outdoor pool for easy access). With no expectations the hotel staff were happy to accommodate as best they could which was amazing given that the hotel was very busy. Not only were we humbled with their hospitality but we were particularly grateful to Ursula Offord, the Executive Housekeeper, who gave us the option to visit the room before deciding if we were happy to change rooms and if so, housekeeping will transfer all our luggage to the new room so we wouldn’t have to do it ourselves. So without any delay, Ursula arranged transportation to the room with a very friendly and polite gentleman, Luis. Not only did we feel well looked after, we also felt very special and important and we were transported in a private cart. It didn’t stop there however…the rest of our stay was simply exceptional from the cleanliness of the hotel to the exquisite food, facilities and stunning grounds, not to mention the warm and friendly staff throughout. Dinner was fine dinning at the Fox Restuarant with a great choice of wines. The service in the restaurant was the best you’d expect and we were made to feel welcome by Reynold the Restuarant Manager. We loved our stay so much, that we have already booked our second stay with our children after finding out about all the wonderful and exciting activities they have to offer for their age group during half term! We are ever so grateful and highly recommend Foxhills to anyone wishing to stay either as a couple or with family. Summary: Great choice, customer service consistently outstanding throughout. This is definitely 5 Star by any standards. If you’re in the UK looking for a break or outside the UK to experience beautiful countryside, grounds, facilities, historical building you should book here.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful, as well as the main building. We were gifted a package for one nights stay, dinner, a spa treatment. Checkin is at 2 the massages were booked for 4pm and dinner was at 7:30pm so to say it all felt slightly rushed is probably the best way to describe it. You cannot use the facilities after checkout at 11am so there’s not a lot you can do if you stay for one night or have one of these packages. After we checked in the keys to the room didn’t work and when we did get into the room (63) it smelt absolutely awful as well as there being stains on the bedding - we were swiftly given room 66 which was acceptable. But missed out on an hour due to the faffing. A lot of money for magnolia rooms with some cheap prints in there but this is combated by the amazing grounds and spa facility. The whole experience was probably not the most memorable experience bar the therapist in the spa being phenomenal!
