What to say after spending over a week in paradise? I will not focus on the property itself. It’s simple, but comfortable enough and all you need. The main point here is the experience this family can provide. You (and maybe a hand full of other fellow guests) are the only tourists on this little piece of paradise. And Haleem and Shifa will do everything they can to make your holidays an amazing experience. Good food, specially the beach barbecue which they organized twice for us and it was super romantic. Make sure you have some homemade chapati. But to us the most important part was that Haleem understood exactly what we wanted to do regarding tours. We didn’t want to dive with whalesharks and mantas among hundreds of people and dozens of boats. We did it before from another place we stayed a couple days prior and it was madness. Haleem took us searching for the sharks when there was no one else there (at our own risk of not finding any) and sometimes we didn't find what we were looking for, but when we found the sharks it was magical. Haleem has an eye for it. So do yourself a favour and organize it with him to go search for the sharks when it’s quiet. Seeing the sharks at the cost of harming them or yourself being hit by a boat is not worth it. And Haleem is the guy to make it happen (again, they are wild animals and may be there or not but if they are, this guy will probably find them). Also his tips for snorkeling around the island were great. Our freedives on the “house reef” were amazing and we saw devil rays, eagle rays, sharks and lots of other life. Don’t hesitate to come here if you love nature. As a final side note, we recommend to fly from Male to Maamigili and then transfer to Didhdhoo instead of taking a speedboat as our experience with that (arranged by another accommodation) was terrible.
