We’ve been coming to the Maldives for the last 20 years and have been to a lot of top class resorts. The Intercontinental is right up there with best. Three things are the most important to us… First is the location and prettiness of the island. From the gardeners and maintenance who work behind the scenes (and who always smile and greet you) to make this island so beautiful and pristine. Second is the food…at the Intercontinental it is exquisite with lots of variations from Asian, Maldivian, Mediterranean and much more. The chefs and their teams are very capable offering lots of variety and are happy to tone down spicy dishes on request. The breakfast choice is outstanding. Last but by no means least are the wonderful staff. Reinhold - your team are a credit to you. Offering friendly greetings and smiles. Having banter and I like to think we have made some new friends. Nothing is too much trouble. They are happy if you are happy. I would like to thank cheeky Atiq, Alok, the gorgeous Sweety (I have my eyes peeled!) Snethit, your knowledge and passion for wine is outstanding, Arul who also made our year seeing the newly hatched baby turtles, Hamman, Cindy, Nicky for your magic hands in the spa, Jocelyn, Hammu, Minsoe and all of you who made our stay so fantastic. Sorry if I missed anyone. Dwi our curator expertly and efficiently booked our restaurants and spas, she’s always there for us and nothing was ever too much trouble. Thanks also to the housekeeping staff who serviced our room very well and we always came back to our room all refreshed like magic. Our beds were the comfiest ever. Almost missed breakfast most mornings as didn’t want to leave it! Thank you all we can’t wait to come back
