Mahdia Beach & Aqua Park

This hotel is awful. I’d like to start by saying yes we were all aware it was out of season. I booked the holiday for the water park. When I first booked on LH IT DID NOT STATE the water park would be open or closed, as usually it would with holidays booked in the past. This is why further enquiries were made by way of me phoning LH to either confirm or not. I was told it would be open and I intend on requesting they pull up the recording of that phone call. Then one week prior to me flying out I see they’ve added that it’s not open! My arrival was fine. The transfer takes 2 hours. I was pleasantly surprised when the night manager told us there was food available for us despite it being after midnight. The food was underwhelming and lacked flavour. We decided this was probably just because we were late and appreciated that they had saved us food anyway. Unfortunately it didn’t get much better. The restaurant staff however were mostly pleasant. Hamid was amazing. And there’s a short slim chef that went out of his way to check on me when he thought i had hurt my arm. I can’t recommend the restaurant Chikhaun about 5 mins walk to the left enough. The food was lovely, seasoned, and fresh. And the staff were very kind and attentive. Watch your step walking anywhere round there. The roads are not stroller/buggy friendly, drop down curbs etc… nope more like dirt roads and exceedingly high curbs. This is not a tourist area. The snacks are slices of cake, pancakes and donuts everyday served in the lobby besides the table they allow the cats to climb up to eat on. There are a group of German ppl that come here for 6 months out of the year. Just know they run the place and have priority over everything. Children being told to STFU by them, children having ping pong balls violently thrown into their faces by them! My child is not rude and by far loud but I worried for his safety whilst there. And the ONLY people I was worried about harming him were the group of German people..not the fun, happy holiday goers who were harmless in comparison! It also worried me that children are being looked as adults 👀. Usama behind the bar lovely young man! The men who arrange the photos and also the spa days-lovely people Our children were just sitting in the lobby chatting just being kids. Then security came over and told our kids to go and sit by the bar or they will call the police. The round night manager and 3 mean looking “security” men stood over our children yelling at them that he calling the police on them. And told them that they are over 12 therefore he didn’t have to consult the parents regarding what ever his issue was with them (my son is 10) When I came over I was told that the lobby belongs to reception after 10 and no one is allowed there because the Germans are right above. At no point was this made clear to anyone. Nor was there any signage informing us of this rule. My room was standard, however when I woke up in the morning the sink was

Good Expirence . Awesome animation team. Had alot of fun would recommend. Food is alright . People are good always something to do. Karaoke was great and the entertainment at night. Would reccomend pls come............................

We visited Mahdia for our Annual February vacation. We knew when we booked that the waterpark was closed so no issue. Staff are fantastic, bar staff work tirelessly round the clock, once Ali knows your drink of choice, it's pretty much served to your table as your previous drink is finished. Food was great, chips and pizza for kids. Omelette station for breakfast, Pizza station for dinner along with lovely Tunisian cuisines served daily. Photographer Ali is another fun experience in the grounds and on the beach. Entertainment staff are great, making games for kids and Adults alike and the shows were good to watch. Rooms are great for families, 2 separate rooms in the same suite.

Came over here with my husband and 2 children. Worst experience ever. From the moment we landed in the country, everyone was out to get us, trick and steal from us. As we couldn't get any dinars from Uk, we tried exchage it in the airport and they tried giving us only half of the amount with the police right there next to them. The food is so bland, and same every day and freezing cold. The deserts are having a really weird taste to them, like they are kept in a mouldy place, or very very old ( the only way I can explain it). Everyone smokes inside the lobby, every day you stink of cigarettes just by chilling in the lobby. They don't clean the rooms, just make beds, you have to ask for towels and toilet paper. Asked for shower gel few times, had to go buy my own. If you want some more decent treatment, you have to pay extra for it. Most staff are so rude, unless you tip them and all of a sudden they become super friendly. The shop in the Hotel, more expensive than UK, again everyone tries to over charge you. The trips, kids enjoyed the camel rides and quad biking, over priced is an understatement, but we didn't have anything else to do. Sit in the lobby and passive smoke ( if you're not a smoker) The hotel is not 4*, I'll say 2* tops. Most British people who stayed at this hotel at the same time with us, couldn't wait to go home, in fact few people left early due to the conditions and staff. The only good thing, is the annimation team, they were amazing with the kids, kept them entertained and went out of their way. First and last trip to this lawless country. Went out for a trip to the coliseum and the mosque, had to watch out back and pockets all the time. Came back mentally drained and mentally exhausted unable to enjoy the beauty of those places.

Water park was shut don't open until may we got told. Disappointed as that's why we booked it. No entertainment, food no variety same each day. My special needs grandaughter struggled to eat anything. We noticed certain people were favoured, maybe they we're regulars. Staff did seem polite rooms cleaned daily. Weather wasn't great so spent alot if time in indoor pool which could do with good clean as in windows and floor. Outside was lovely but due to weather only had one day outside by pool.Nothing outside hotel locally. Wouldn't go back.

I had a really good time at this holte with lots of friendly workers who made us all feel so very welcome some off the staff was a joy to be around I would recommend going there in the summer as there wasn’t many thing to do it winter but I had a really good time and met some amazing people thank you all From Tammy
